Pontefract ~ Tue 8 July.

Recommended Posts

5.00 Pontefract. Annibale Caro. Lay. Racing Post SP 4/1. Did well to rack up a three-timer, but with that has come a big rise in the weights and he did look to be feeling the strain of those winning runs when last seen. 10lb higher today off a mark of 70 than he was when last winning, and if that isn't a reason to oppose him, then the ground turning on the soft side of good would be making his 4/1 SP look very skinny. All his best form has come on good or faster, so mix that with a big weight and several rivals 'seemingly' much better weighted on this ground, then the bet can only be a lay. If he wins then fair play to him. I expect a big drift on this fella.

Re: Pontefract ~ Tue 8 July. 4.30 Heritage Coast - Sir Michael Stoute sends his filly to a course where he has a great S/R of 35 % from 54 runners. She has the strongest form in the race having being beaten by only 0.75 l LTO in a handicap at Sandown (the winner had won twice previously). On her run before she again finished second, this time to Cape Colony, who has gone on to win since (incidentally, at Ponte). She drops back into a maiden here, with the market speaking very positively about her. 1/2 Blue Sq
