DID YOU KNOW On the 5th May 2007 Uttoxeter Racecourse celebrated 100 years of racing. In 1907 admission to the racecourse cost just one shilling (5p) and was largely patronised by the nobility, gentry and sportsmen of the county. It was in 1988 when the late Sir Stanley Clarke took over, that the transformation into the racecourse that we know today truly began. Uttoxeter was turned into an award winning racecourse, with a reputation for customer service and innovation. In that first year Uttoxeter Racecourse hosted only five meetings. Now, Uttoxeter Racecourse holds 24 race meetings spread evenly through the year. Whether it is National Hunt Racing in winter, or glorious summer jumping, you are sure to find a fixture that suits you. Uttoxeter’s feature days are the John Smith’s Midlands Grand National and the Britannia Building Society English Summer National. Small e/w bets for me at big prices. 2.45 CARETTA CARETTA 80/1 Now the ground has firmed up i think this horse will improve a lot. 3.20 WINTER CRUISE 33/1 First run over jumps and willing to take a chance at that price. 3.55 DALARAM 16/1 Much better run lto and has had a change of stable.16's looks very big imo and i think it will go off much shorter. 4.25 MR ED 20/1 Better ground and better in at the weights in this than last year although Mr McCoy has chosen to ride the top weight instead of this one. 5.00 ALBARINO 25/1 A combo of Jock/Trainer i like and this horse is better than what its shown for a while.
