Poker Advice

Hello fellas, I'm just learning the game, and have been playing for about 3 months now. Although I thoroughly enjoy the game, I'm a complete novice. (Not novice enough to risk any sort of cash on 7 2 mind:lol ) However, I hear more and more people comment on how I should track my play, hands etc. Firstly, I was thinking of writing some sort of spreadsheet, but then realised I don't have a clue where to start, and what sort of things I should be noting down.
