Playing online poker when on vacation in USA?

Hi all, I was wondering if I can play online poker when I am on vacation in USA. Doing a 20 day vacation to California, including a few days Vegas :) Sites like Mansion, Everest, Trillion... I am taking my laptop and I wondered if it's ok to play there. I'm not a US citizen and don't live there, but I might want to play a special freeroll online while I'm there..... So is that alright or is that asking for problems? Anyone tried playing online before when on vacation in USA?

Re: Playing online poker when on vacation in USA?

I think it's fine to play online there as long as your account is non-us. Shouldnt have any problems. Going to hit the real casinos while you are there?
Thanks :) I am kinda worried since almost all sites forbid US players. Yeah, I'll be in Vegas for 3 days.:D From March 8th till March 10 and then I'll move on with my road trip with friends :) Have to see the strip and play at least one small tournament in the evening in one of the big casino's, with buyin around $100 maybe... got any tips?

Re: Playing online poker when on vacation in USA? The crime in the US as I understand it is the transfer of funds from bank accounts to online gaming sites - if you have an account that was funded without a money transfer in the US (which you have) then playing poker is not a crime :unsure Having said that, I think some sites do block US IP addresses from playing (which is why some UK based players with AOL as their ISP have problems - as AOL uses US IP addresses, even for UK residents)

Re: Playing online poker when on vacation in USA? I'm in the US at the moment. I've played some poker online and haven't been arrested yet! :D As GaF says, funding your account while you're there may be illegal and difficult, but just playing will almost certainly not get you into any trouble. I don't know about the particular sites you mention, but I've played on some sites while I've been here which I expected to block my IP address but didn't.

Re: Playing online poker when on vacation in USA? i think quite a few of the guys on here have played tourneys from vegas before and didnt have any probs:ok i would recommend playing the grinder tourney at planet hollywood at 7pm mon, wends and fridays . $60 entry ,usually about a hundred runners, $300 added bounty on micheal "the grinder"maratzi. my missus managed to cash 4th for about $400. or the 11pm at ceasers is a good game :ok think its $90 buy in ,very nice poker room (massage by lovely girl if u want it:)) usually about 50-60 runners. expect a late night if you cash tho.

Re: Playing online poker when on vacation in USA? Wow, great info guyz. Thanks a lot! Can't use Neteller online in USA :( I guess I need to make sure that my funds on the pokersites are still ok before I leave to USA. I did learn from Live Chat at Neteller that I can use their Neteller Prepaid Card in the US to pay for my expenses while I'm there. Just need to cash out some of my funds on Neteller before I go to USA. My funds on Neteller are USD so that saves me conversion fee compared to my bank account in Euro's. Live poker tournaments in Vegas :) I have some experience from Holland Casino here in the Netherlands. But they don't have added bounties or lovely massage girls :loon I'll go and check out the casino's on the strip before I decide where to play. But I'll make sure to check out the casino's that were suggested.:ok
