Re: Power Rating Soccer Predictions Hi Robkor, Very interesting looking system. I am currently using a system with very similar results (approximately 5% yield). The difference with mine is that, whilst it is quite profitable overall, there is not really any correlation between perceived value and profit level. I suspect this may be partly because a high level of 'value' selections are due to injuries etc (I do not account for this). Do you find the same happens with your system? It's great using statistical modelling based on form but low morale/injuries/suspensions etc are not accounted for. Regards JF

Re: Power Rating Soccer Predictions Hello pontus! I doubt you would be able to modify my excel document...it's very complex (about 200MB for each league) ...even I had trouble adopting it from league to league. But leaving this aside, I can't share something that I've spent my life developing, but if you have some questions go ahead and I'll see if there's anything I can do for you. Regards

Re: Power Rating Soccer Predictions Only came across this thread today. Must say I'm impressed with the system you've devised here. Like as already been mentioned the only way it could be improved is via implenting some sort of injured/suspensed player element to the selecitons, but I imagine that would be almost impossible and very difficult to put a numbr on a players worth to a team. But it obviously does affect the odds for each game. But currentley it seems to be running a steady if a reasonably slow yield, but if this yield can be relied on stakes can obviously be increased. I'm actually think of starting my own system based on predicted probability of results and finding the value in the odd, although I don't really have the time to set-up my own statistical model and hence was looking to adapt some from a number of different sources. Was wondering if you could have a look at the following websites: http://www.soccerwinners.com/matchengp.html http://www.dectech.org/football_sites/football_dectech/seasonend_overall.php Do you reckon these are plausible sources and how do they compare to your prediction probabilities? In addition you mentioned you get yours stats from football-data, there's another couple of sites here that are good for stats that I thought might be useful to you: http://uk.soccerway.com/ http://soccerstats.com/

Re: Power Rating Soccer Predictions Thanks for the reply robkoh, I've actually not looked at the soccerwinners site recentley and i'm currently running a paper trial of some other predicted outcome figures from here: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/fink_tank/ Click the tink tank predictor at the top at there's good information there. Promosing signs for far with it showing a profit for three out of the for divisions with the trial i'm doing.
