MTT,s middle stages

A area on my game I struggle with is the middle stages of MTT,s. If for example after 2 hours in I,m sitting on a average chip stack i don't seem to be able to push on from their and I tend to limp into the money but as we all no the final table is where the decent money starts. Just wondering how you guys play the middle stages, do you take more risks with say coin flip situations, or with the blinds higher and worth stealing that you should be looking to pick up the blinds at least once a round to keep your stack topped up. Or do you look to pick on the players (like myself) who tighten up and looking to limp into the money.

Re: MTT,s middle stages I dont agree with looking to pick up the blinds once a round to keep your stack topped up ..... you should do it as often as you think you can get away with - some rounds that may be more than once, some rounds you may not get the chance - if you miss the chance to get the blinds, for example from the BB,SB,Button and Cut Off, that doesn't automatically mean you should raise with any two next hand, because you haven't picked up the blinds yet this round..... Should always be looking to pick on players who are clearly tightening up to limp into the money (mugs :tongue2) :ok Not necessarily looking to take more risks with coin flips (unless getting short stacked), but I am happy to leverage my fold equity in potential coin flip situations ..... basically "the gap" - I will call all in far far less than I will go all in.....
