2pm Ludlow INGRATITUDE Nicky Henderson seems to be hitting top form at just the right time, and has a great record at Ludlow. Ingratitude is proven over this distance and off this mark, and the ground should be perfect. Some other decent horses in the race should ensure a fair price, and I'll be playing.

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Monday 7th Jan Ultimate Quest 2.20 Southwell Noticed that the trainer only sends the one horse here today and Seb Sanders takes this as his only ride at the meeting. Cost 75,000 guineas at the sales and holds an entry in the Derby 2008. Unraced but has to start somewhere so here is as good as anywhere with no flat racing for a while. Both jockey and trainer at the top of the stats for 2007 for winners and the main danger may be Kool Katie which ran on past beaten horses and will appreciate the extra furlong but trainer has a poor record overall and the selection would not have to be anything special to beat this lot. Currently 3.4 on Betfair with Royal Applord at 3.75 and Kool Katie at 4.5. Royal Applord has had plenty of opportunites and failed to impress and will have support due to the trainers excellent record but is not one for me.
