Wasn't sure where to put this but i'm wokring on something with Massey using the horse racing place odds. Does anyone know if it's possible to work out the place odds from the betfair back odds easily? Or if there is a formula to do this?? Thanks in advance :hope

Re: Betfair back odds v place odd - help! Not so sure there can be a formula. The market for win is not reflected in a strict linear way by the place market. The shorter priced horses will have better place odds than you may expect, but the longer ones seem to have shorter than you would hope for. For instance win = 4.5 will usually give place of 2.00 (much better than 1/4 odds) But win = 30.00 will be place odds of 4 to 5 which gives a sixth the win odds or even worse. So I just don't think a formula will work. :unsure:unsure:unsure
