books!

hi all does anyone have any recommendations for books to read to educate myself about racing particularly the jump racing (but flat as well)? i'm just looking to educate myself really, have looked on Amazon and there's a few to choose from, just wondering if anyone could recommend some reading? Ta!

Hi secretmachines, Depends what angle your coming from here as there are stats books, pedigree books, horses to follow books etc... so it isn't so simple picking one book and expecting it to educate you straight after you read it! Watch the horse racing and listen to what everyone has to say on there from presenters to trainers to jockeys, hell even stable lads/lasses! as this is their life and their employment and as with any employment you have to be reasonably succesful at what you do to succeed. Also read the Racingpost as it has all you need to know for that days racing or go onto their website online and register as it also has a facility to watch horses previous races. And lastly but not least! read Punters Lounge regularly as there are a lot of well educated and knowledgeable Guys on here who know their stuff! Always bet within your means! Regards, :ok .
