Raising your money by 1%

Recommended Posts

What do you think on the system of placing bets on odds of 1.01 only (or something similar)? Do you think it's a good way to make profit? Edit: If you don't understand I refer to, for instance, football games, where on the 80th minute a team is leading 2 - 0 (or by 2 goals) and you put your money on them to win. Of course you should avoid "dangerous" game such as Spanish League games etc.

Everybody in this forum will tell you the same. The 1.01 odds is the "sucker odds". When suckers see such low odds they usually think "this is a sure win" and since the profit is so small they bet big. But alas, sooner than later you'll find out that those 1.01 bets lose more often than you would've thought, and obviously when you lose, you lose *big*. Don't be a sucker F.

But the thing is that you need to be smart and don't place blind bet on something you're not sure about of course. I'm trying to say that when you invest money in the bank you get 5% after 1 year! If you find 10 good bets of 1.01 (and there are so many bets that are non-risky, where the bookies don't care sometimes, yes, it happens, you know it is) - then you can raise your money by 10% ! The obstacle is of course, the max-limit, because I don't think there is any bookie out there who lets you place more than a few thousands on a bet, but correct me if I'm wrong please And tell me what you think about this idea Thanks :notworthy

Re: Raising your money by 1% there have been a number of threads dedicated to similar methods. the obvious danger is hitting a loser may not be as hard as anticipated. but if you have 'spare cash' and are willing to try something - good luck. just make sure that its cash you can lose if the worst happens.

Re: Raising your money by 1% It seems like you have your mind set on this but here's my input. Will you make profit? No. even if you were lucky enough to hit 100 winners in a row you'd hardly make a penny. It only takes one loss to wipe out profit and eat into your original bank. Two or three losses and you have no money left. 97 wins, you might be able to buy a lottery ticket. But hey good luck with it, hope you prove us all wrong.

Re: Raising your money by 1% Theres a punter on the betfair forums who used to specialise in 1.01 - 1.06 odds and would go along making small profits for a while and then the ineviatable loss would happen. This got me thinking that the best way to play these odds is to lay them, small risk high return u only need a small percentage of them to win for you. Could be start of a thread there, whatever you do best of luck. Cheers Terry.
