Re: Bath 10/6 One that catches the eye tomorrow is MINE BEHIND in the 5.10. The last time he was down to a mark of 80, he notched up a quickfire double in similar grade races to this. A subsequent campaign in class 2 handicaps racing off ratings in the late 80's didnt produce a great deal of success, although there were some sporadic good performances - most notably at Goodwood and Chepstow, running well behind Firenze and King Caprice in a couple of hot handicaps. Since the Chepstow race he has raced 4 times with 4 seemingly uninspiring outcomes. At the risk of making excuses for him, it is not unreasonable to suggest he was badly drawn on every one of these occasions. Back down to a class 4 handicap - this company will be nothing like he has been used to and down 6lb's on his last run there is every opportunity for him to bounce back to form today. He is a C&D winner, the stable looks in decent form with 2 winners earlier in the week (both ridden by todays jockey George Baker) and the distance/ground should be fine. This isnt a great race and he has definite each way claims.
