Hi Guys I'm new to posting on the Punter's Lounge, and although more in to the Football than Horses I like the odd bet on the Gee-Gee's too :) Just thought I would post some of my thoughts about the big race tomorrow to see what you all think. Rooster Booster is the class horse in the race. He has been running with credit all season under less than ideal conditions - This horse needs a big field over 2 miles with a strong pace ideally on a stiff track. Tomorrow he is going to get 3 out of 4, you wouldn't say Newbury is a stiff a course as Chetenham. He has a mountain of weight to carry but to be honest he is a mountain of a horse and I think it will improve him a stone to have conditions in his favour. In his last three runs, twice there was no pace and last time he made his own pace and even though winning, didn't look comfortable. I think he is going to take a deal of beating :ok I am having 2 points to win @ 7.8 (Betfair) and also 2 points place (1,2,3,4) @ 2.66 (Betfair) Stake 4 points Return ? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts................... :gimme

Re: Tote Gold Trophy Hi MK I have run the rule over this on a trends basis as with the Tote scoop 6 last week. The last 10 winners were 7yo or under. 10/10 rated between 131 & 147 9/10 finished in first 5 LTO 9/10 were 10/1 or less Rooster Booster was 2nd in this 2 years ago off a rating of 138, rated at 166 tomorrow & improved since then & will have the strong gallop he needs but looks vulnerable to younger less exposed types. Sporazene, Hasty Prince & Limerick Boy are all young, improving types in the right price range but at 151,151 & 148 in the ratings are just above the prefered level. One who fits the profile is Risky Reef, rated at 140 this one took a decent handicap hurdle at the Grand National meeting last spring. Two good runs at Punchestown since in Grade 1 & 2 company & goes on any ground. Available at 11/1 I think this one may start a point or two shorter & must give a good run for the money.
