In Contrast. 90% stake @ 12.0 Mr Cool 10% stake @ 30.0 Sh Boom's price appears to be based on what he might do and not what he has achieved. He may have undoubted potential, but I think this is his toughest assignment to date, the drop back in trip may not see him at his best, especially if he puts in the kind of jumping errors he showed at Haydock. I actually think Quazar represents the best chance of a Jonjo winner, but how he will react to last weeks run is anyones guess. It still remains a mystery to me what the ideal rest periods are; trainers run their horses with the horses welfare the priority, yet on Cheltenham week we see horses run on consecutive days. Does a trainer who runs his horse every week have less regard for it than the trainer who runs his every six weeks. I know all horses are different and the race programme is difficult, but this question still baffles me. Anyway, even if Quazar runs to last weeks form, I still feel my selection will beat him. Mr Cool , although appearing inconsistant and dissapointing recently, could be worth a few quid as a saver, around 30.0. The horse runs well when fresh and the seven week break may see a better performance. Big Moment, Starzaan, Jollyholly and even Gin Palace are all "potential" horses, but they all need to show improvement to win today, even considering a couple of them have course form. Vic Toto is difficult to weigh up, but has never run on todays ground, a comment which also applies to Sleep Bal. In Contrast, could be friendless in the market because of his lay off after injury. I do think this concern will ensure a value price, for a horse who has shown consistantly class hurdling form. My biggest concern would be the sharpness of the track, but it is left handed and the track worry also applies to a few others. He runs well 1st time out and I'm sure he has been well preped, with Rooster and Monkerhostin in the stable. It is entirely possible this is prep for another attempt at the Champion, but I think connections would feel this is worth winning along the way. My logic is that if In Contrast ran in the Tote Gold Trophy last week, I would have expected him to finish in front of stablemate Monkerhostin, therefore also in front of Quazar. In Contrast is also 2lb better off under todays race conditions. In Contrast is trading at double the price of Quazar ( who may be a touch tired ) on the exchanges. All comments appreciated. Cheers beamer
