zx6rr_ninja Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 :welcome this year its a battle between 3 drivers as the head of the betting market would suggest. they go : 5/4 toseland 7/4 bayliss and 5/1 biaggi. for the life of me i cant understand why james toseland is their favourite ! james is a super biker , he has youth, experience and is the fittest rider on the circuit, when he is not on a bike he is either in the gym or playing in his rock band "crash" (which incidentally rock !). he won the title in 2004 despite only winning 2 races, bit like how nicky hayden stole the title off rossi in 2006 ! james toseland is an ultra consistent biker who rarely falls off,he knows the circuits and other riders but he shouldnt be favourite for the title. max biaggi comes to world superbike from moto gp,he didnt race in moto gp last season due to a breakdown in contract negotiations and he now finds himself on the alstare suzuki replacing the 2005 champ troy corser whos switched to yamaha. biaggi will be dangerous in this years championship, he too knows the circuits and has bags of experience . if he can get to grips with the suzuki ,gets the set up he wants,he should go well this season ,he was the fastest in pre-season testing and has adapted well to the bike. i have my reservations as he was a little off the pace in australia (phillip island) but you cant expect to get on a bike and have a perfect set up straight away. i think max will win races this season as world sbk is not so cut-throat as moto gp and hel able to relax and gain a bit of momentum and consistency this year and the opponents will not be so tough to race against,he will win races but wont compete for the title . the man who will win world superbike this year will be TROY BAYLISS. at 7/4 its a lump on price, the ducati and bayliss fit like hand and glove, hes won at every circuit he has won the superbike title in 2001 and 2006, he finished 2nd in 2002 to edwards by single points, went to moto gp in 2003,2004 and gained experience with the ducati factory team, he done ok but ducati dropped him and troy found himself on a semi factory honda for 2005, he had an accident that season and finished 12th. he came back to his domain, world superbike in 2006 sat on the ducati in world superbike and won the title last year by 95 pts. he is the man to beat this season, why he isnt favourite , hes won more superbike races than all the other drivers put together ! bayliss cemented his claims to win this years championship by winning the last race in moto gp last season at valencia where he got an invitation to drive the ducati, proving that he is a class above his rivals when it comes to world superbike . troy the boy is class and 7/4 is a class price for a class champion. ignore troy corser on the yamaha, no chance though hes team mate haga will win a few races although not until later in the season.:ok Quote
