Can anyone explain the following odds to me. Why are Lily Allen and Corrinne Bailey Rae flip-flopping favourites between the 2 categories? :unsure Surely if one of them gets the Best British Female award, they will also beat the other one to Best British Breakthrough?

Re: Brit Awards It's the phenomenon called 'spreading the wealth'. They can win one each, both or neither. Merely a coincidence if Corinne or Lily happen to win both (but it's be one heck of a coincidence). One's supposed to be a public vote, the other's an industry award. I'm even more hesistant about betting on these awards not least because it's live and real-time. There hasn't been any significant moves in any of the markets. The only real move has been for Take That's Patience to win Best British Single but some wags are suggesting Lily Allen's Smile will win instead. It's one of those 'vote on the night' things which means 'anything' can happen.
