Ling 5.00 Firework The 1st thing to strike me with this horse lto was the booking of the unknown jockey for it’s 1st run of the year in an apprentice h/cap. Doe, who has ridden him for all of his four wins is not on board today ( at Wolvs), but the booking of Jimmy Quinn will do. He is now dropped to the grade where he performs. Career stats: 2239- 080036343643- 750047- 13049911313420- 0 (11%) Stats when dropped to class G : 47- 13411 (43%) Stats Class G over 6f: 1311 (75%) Defeat was on slow at Wolvs. He did actually fail in a class F seller over C&D when fav last season, but he was drawn 14/14, which was fatal for this front runner. Negative would be that he has no win to his name on this surface, but he appears to handle anything. I’d expect strong support for Only One Legend (21234 -40% SR), which should make the market for Firework. I do expect a big run from OOL, but it is hard to gauge whether he is on the downgrade and I would rather be with the prominent runner at the bigger price. Sounds Lucky is a course specialist and will improve for the step up, but I don’t think his last win compares to last years form and may struggle to overcome the wide draw. It is also worth considering Firework finished in front of Sounds Lucky on his last run and is 2lb better today. Any comments appreciated beamer
