thegiddygambler
Hi, I've used a couple of poker tutorials on the net biut think these are really geared to sucking you in. ie You end up winning. Think I'm learning the basics but can anybody recommend me a book and or a cd rom to teach me how to play the game? Think I'm gonna do some more work on my own with playing cards and try to simulate a game this way before i go online. thanks

GaF
Re: can anybody recommend a poker book or cd rom You read this thread from Mr V? No need to wait, get online!!! And no need to risk ANY of your own cash!!! How To Start Out in Poker Without Risking Your Own Cash Can't beat Harrington on Hold'em for Multi Table Tournaments :ok Watching PokerNightLive is also VERY educational I think - broadcast every night on Sky Ch 843 (or online at www.pokerzone.tv) - you'll learn a lot from watching this :ok

slapdash
Re: can anybody recommend a poker book or cd rom Phil Gordons Little green book - Phil Gordon (gives a lot of practical advice) I really like that book. He also has a "Little blue book" where he goes through lots of hands that he's played, that is also good (I read it over Christmas), though not as good as the green one. The occasional little digs at Phil Hellmuth are quite amusing.
