Value System

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, first of all let me congratulate everyone for the excellent work you have been doing here on the ATR forum. I am sorry to say that I only read the bankers thread everyday and have been missing the other "gems" that the regulars have been throwing up. I hope 2007 is at the very least as good as 2006, and I will certainly be following the E/W and tracks threads asI prefer to back longer priced horses. I will try to run this new system on a regular basis, although sometimes I have busy patches at work, so if someone wants to update when I am away, feel free to do it!! Rules for the system: Rule 1. Go to the Racing Post racecards and look for horses that have a betting forecast of 15/8 or less Rule 2. If you can catch a price at least 33% better than the RP Forecast, take it and bet on that horse. Some thoughts on this: 1. It is best to wait for the final minutes before the race to place your bets, because you are backing drifters. 2. You are looking for value, taking advantage of market over-reactions to news and gossip that I have found to be on most occasions unfounded. 3. I will use variables Stakes so that my profit is always 5% of bank if a selection wins, and my start bank will be 100 pts. 4. I will not post selections in advance,as I cannot guess the horses that will drift (if I knew I would trade them and be rich in 2 months, lol), but I will update the thread every night. The rules are here for all to see, and all reasoning, so all you have to do is look at the prices, very easy. 5. I will quote prices at SP, but for those betting on Betfair, some differences will probably apply, and you get much better value on BF, because the drifting/steaming effect is higher on the exchanges. Please notice this system is very experimental yet, and I think the heavy drifters offer poor value (when they go off at twice the forecast or more, I start to smell some fishy things, such as inside info, who knows...), so for now I don't advise anyone to follow this for real. Best wishes and feel free to post all you wish. Pinho
