Newton-Heath
Hey! A long time since I last posted anything but I've had other things to do than betting ;) Anyway, I think I've come up a system that might give the edge over the bookies. It's a simple system based on current stats in the table. Here are the few rules that I use picking a match and a team to bet on: 1) Only bet on the hometeam. 2) Only pick a match/team to analyse further if it feel right and not just because the stats are right. 3) Only bet on the hometeam if the RATING is grater than 1,00. So, here's my picks for this weekend: Marseille vs St. Etienne RATING: 1,08 Odds: 1,95 Tranmere vs Gillingham RATING: 1,45 Odds: 1,77 Portsmouth - Sheff Utd RATING: 1,30 Odds: 1,81 Preston - Colchester RATING: 1,50 Odds: 1,84 Alkmaar - Nijmegen RATING: 1,19 Odds: 1,30 I only bet single with 1 unit each bet. Good luck :hope
Newton-Heath
Re: My new RATING-system Marseille vs St. Etienne RATING: 1,08 Odds: 1,95 Result: 2-1 :loon Profit: +0,95 units Tranmere vs Gillingham RATING: 1,45 Odds: 1,77 Result: 2-3 :wall Profit: -1,00 units Portsmouth - Sheff Utd RATING: 1,30 Odds: 1,81 Result: 3-1 :loon Profit: +0,81 units Preston - Colchester RATING: 1,50 Odds: 1,84 Result: 1-0 :loon Profit:+0,84 Alkmaar - Nijmegen RATING: 1,19 Odds: 1,30 Result: Pending :hope Total profit so far: +1,60 units Next picks: Everton - M'boro RATING: 1,12 Odds: 1,90 Southampton - Crystal Palace RATING: 1,21 Odds: 1,79 Good luck! :hope

Newton-Heath
Re: My new RATING-system Well, the flying start crashed as Alkmaar couldn't score and the match ended 0-0 :wall So, my profit is now +0,60 units. I do have a great feeling about Man Utd with a match-rating at 1,45 but the odds offerede might seem to low. 1,21 on a homewin doesn't seem to be something to bet on but the rating show that Man Utd should win against Wigan. So, as I've gone through my rules of this RATNG-system I've decided to bet on Man Utd to win. The feeling is good about it, the RATING show 1,45 and it's a bet on the hometeam. Good luck and let's hope Everton and Southampton knows how to score and win :hope
Newton-Heath
Re: My new RATING-system As the days move on I find myself digging for more teams to bet on. Actually, I'm not looking for more teams to bet on as that might lead me to force myself to bet on teams that I don't believe is going to win, but I'm looking trough the matches to see if I've missed an opportunity to make money. And so I have. Here's an updated list of what matche to bet on (remember only to bet on the hometeams): EVERTON - M'boro RATING: 1,12 Odds: 1,90 :hope SOUTHAMPTON - Crystal Palace RATING: 1,21 Odds: 1,79 :hope MAN UTD - Wigan RATING: 1,45 Odds: 1,21 :hope COLCHESTER - Luton RATING: 1,68 Odds: 1,85 :hope WALSALL - Shrewsbury RATING: 1,59 Odds: 1,93 :hope Good luck! PS: Although there's plenty of matches to bet on I don't find any more that I believe in and those I've found but didn't bet on didn't live up to the rules about the RATING (it have to be greater than 1,00). Newton-Heath
Re: My new RATING-system EVERTON - M'boro RATING: 1,12 Odds: 1,90 Result: 0-0 :wall SOUTHAMPTON - Crystal Palace RATING: 1,21 Odds: 1,79 Result: 1-1 :wall MAN UTD - Wigan RATING: 1,45 Odds: 1,21 Result: 3-1 :loon COLCHESTER - Luton RATING: 1,68 Odds: 1,85 Result: 4-1 :loon WALSALL - Shrewsbury RATING: 1,59 Odds: 1,93 Result: 1-0 :loon Total profit so far: +0,59 units It seems as I'm on a rebound after a good start. But I'll keep my head up and continue to use the system as I know it works. I've used a great amount of time testing it before I decided to go public with my RATINGS on the matches I pick, and I believe it'll win me some money. So, keep tracking my picks and feel free to comments this project.

Newton-Heath
Re: My new RATING-system Thank you, turnlux! If you look at the results of my system so far, you will see that if you layed odds on the opponent teams or played Asian Handicap you wouldn't have lost any units at all. Anyway, I do believe in this system and will continue to post my picks in 2007 as well.

I found it hard to pick some winners today and I've only come up with two matches to bet on. SWANSEA - Brentford RATING: 1,11 Odds: 1,56 :hope HALIFAX - Altrincham RATING: 1,04 Odds: 1,79 :hope Good luck with todays betting and I really hope my system increase your account as we're going through 2007. Dices
Re: My new RATING-system Good luck Newton-Heath :cheers . 3) Only bet on the hometeam if the RATING is grater than 1,00. Is this your rating? What is based on? Happy new year :drums
Newton-Heath
Re: My new RATING-system I use my own formula to calculate the ratings. The ratings are based on current stats (points, goals, wins, draws, difference between the teams based on points, goals, etc.). I'm currently trying to improve my system so it can be more selective when picking the teams to bet on. I like the simplicity about my formula and I'm only using current stats (current table and not forms, injuries, etc.). Well, hang on for a while and feel free to comment my picks and the way my system works for you.
WorkingForTheEnemy
Re: My new RATING-system Looking good so far. Only one team actually lost out of 16 and that game was a huge shock imo. Hopefully the draws have been bad luck so far and it starts to sway in your favour.
Newton-Heath
Re: My new RATING-system This weekend is tricky since there's nothing else from England than the FA CUP to bet on. I believe Stoke will win tonight and my RATING is taking into concideration the difference between the leagues. STOKE - Millwall RATING: 1,60 Odds: 1,60 :hope Good Luck! Newton-Heath
Re: My new RATING-system Stoke pulled a late winner as I was wondering if it would be a good idea to get the stake returned by also betting on a draw or simply bettin on asian handicap. Ofcourse, the profit would be smaller but at least I wouldn't get so annoyed when the team I've bet on can't seem to score. STOKE - Millwall RATING: 1,60 Odds: 1,60 Result: 2-0 :loon Profit: +0,60 units Profit so far: +2,32 units
Newton-Heath
Re: My new RATING-system I found a few matches outside the FA CUP to bet on. GRAVESEND - Halifax RATING: 1,09 Odds: 2,26 :hope DAG & RED - Woking RATING: 1,13 Odds: 1,80 :hope For those of you who want to bet on a few matches in the FA CUP I will recomend Birmingham at home against Newcastle. Newcastle usually does it well in the FA CUP but the team is poor this season. They might as well relegate at the end of the season and winning a few FA CUP matches won't help the team if the team suffers even more injuries. Losing money for losing in the FA CUP is nothing compared to how much the team will lose if relegated. A quick analysis points Birmingham as the winner today. RATING: 0,96 I'm aware that the RATING is less than 1,00 which indicate that this will be an even match, but if the were to be closer to 0,00 it would indicate that this could end in any directions. I'm almost willing to put a small ammount on the hometeam but I've got a system to take care of. And the system says no bet with RATING less than 1,00. Newton-Heath
Re: My new RATING-system I'm not sure how it went, but Gravesend vs Halifax was suspended. I don't know if the match will continue were it ended or if it'll start all over. GRAVESEND - Halifax RATING: 1,09 Odds: 2,26 Result: SUSPENDED Profit: +0,00 units DAG & RED - Woking RATING: 1,13 Odds: 1,80 Result: 3:2 :loon Profit: +0,80 units. My profit som far: +3,12 units I realize that 3,12 units in profit since right before christmas might not be that much. But money is money and the bigger the value of each unit you bet the bigger the profit. Some have a fixed stakingplan (such as myself) others calculate a certain percentage of the bankroll to become a unit and so on. All stakingplans av advantages and disadvantages. The reason for me to stick to a fixed stakingplan is because I want to see how much I can benefit from it. I keep a record for every bet in this system and the fixed stakingplan make it easier for me to se how thing are going. After a while I will convert my records to fit other stakingplans to see how thing could be if I did this or that.

The improved version is based upon the original one but I'm hoping it would give me a more accurate RATING than before. Other picks that passed the original version of the RATING-system but not the improved one: MAN UTD - Portsmouth RATING (original version): 1,50 RATING (improved version: 0,78 AZ - Sparta RATING (original version): 1,11 RATING (improved version: 0,65 Normally I would bet on this matches but as I hope that the improved RATING-system will act as a filter to filter out the "accepted" matches from the original RATING-system, I find it hard to go against my idea. So, there will be only one bet for me today. If anyone wonder, the orignal RATING for WALSALL is 1,84. As the pick was filtered through the improved RATING-system the RATING dropped down to 1,13. Still, I only bet if the RATING is greater than 1,00. Good luck! (And let MAN UTD win today as I'm an dedicated supporter who was the first one ever to get my son baptised in the church wearing a MAN UTD outfit... Sadly my son (who's now 4 years old) have learned the bad word "Liverpool".... Talking 'bout irony....)
