Starting price reform

At present, SPs are determined by taking a sample of bookmakers' prices, and taking the lowest price among the best third available "to good money" at the off. In future, the SP will be the lowest price among the top 50 per cent.

Has anybody seen any serious studies on how much of a difference it will make?

Re: Starting price reform Surely this would make SP's worse. Example: 12 bookies 13/2 6/1 6/1 11/2 11/2 5/1 9/2 9/2 9/2 4/1 4/1 7/2 12 bookies would make the top 4 a third. The lowest price being 11/2. Under the new system the top 50% would be top 6, the lowest price being 5/1
