WorkingForTheEnemy
Im making an inquiry for someone at work. Has anyonehad any dealings with jetsetpoker.com??? Apperently theyve closed down and this is all they now have on their site. Dear Valued JetSetPoker Customer: We deeply regret to convey that we shall be discontinuing service at JetSetPoker (the "Site") effective 3:00 AM EST on Friday, October 13, 2006. Initially, and as per our previous statement, we were cautiously optimistic in maintaining operations for our membership after the passage of the "SAFE Port Act HR 4954" on September 30, 2006 by the U.S. Senate. We nonetheless initially believed it to be practicable. However, given the developments during the preceding week, including but not limited to, the unfavorable view of payment processors and financial institutions regarding online gambling and the extensive advice of our legal counsel, we have been instructed to cease activities and comply with this prohibitionist legislation. We were fortunate to have a first-rate membership and it was our pleasure to provide a destination site where members were able to enjoy their favorite card games and tournaments with the surety that we were to buttress the integrity of the forum. In this inclement environment however we believe our ability to do so may become impaired nor do we anticipate this matter to improve in the near future. We once again thank you for your patronage of JetSetPoker and deeply regret these unfortunate circumstances that have materially and adversely impacted both the Site and the industry. Best regards, JetSetPoker Management Team My friend still has money (although not a huge amount) still in their account. Theres no forwarding contact at all. Theyve recieved no email detailing the close, just a latest newletter which doesnt mention it at all. Any hopes of getting their money back?? philossify
Re: jetset poker Hope you guys get the money out ok and if you don't please tell us! I've always assumed (possibly naively) that the money is held in a somewhat protected environment with the cash only moving in and out the cash processors shared across multiple sites. Can anyone confirm that the money is generally safe? Any past examples of sites closing and money disappearing? However I'm not totally naive and have always been careful to maintain only sufficient funds in a site to fund 4 or 5 mtt entries (typically $10 ones) - suspect if you play real money tables a lot then you need more funds
jammiedodger1
Re: jetset poker LOL have 5 USD don't think i'll be bothering with requesting a cheque for that would only get £1 when exchanged after the rigmarole of trying to bank a usd cheque. Didn't like the site anyway
Hedonist
Re: jetset poker Read this on another site: JetSetPoker.com announced to players on their site last week that they would be closing forever in 5 minutes, locking out multiple players without warning. Since then, they have posted a notice on their site explaining their reasoning, but made no mention of what players could do to settle account balances on their site. We obtained an e-mail with the message that affected players could contact [email protected], who were asked to provide an accurate name and mailing address in order to initiate the check disbursement process. It was noted that checks would be issued in 6-12 weeks. A number of players have reported sending e-mails to that address and thus far have received zero response. xxxxxxxxxxxxx did some digging and came up with a very disturbing picture of this operation. The website was operated by a company named JSP Interactive Ltd, based in St. Kitts, with the finance side handled by Thramo Services Ltd, operating out of Malta. Two phone numbers were listed, +356 8888 8888, and the other, 800-555-1212. The first is clearly bogus and the second you may recognize as a toll-free directory assistance number. Also, in a listing when they first opened, their e-mail was Jetset Poker at a hotmail account, which, by the way, is no longer valid. So it appears that from the very beginning this company was covering their tracks.

jammiedodger1
Re: jetset poker And it all comes to light with the new US legislation not allowing bogus trading to go ahead with online gambling a bogus company with less than fair trading standards, shuts down and covers it's behind......hmmmmmmm as Yoda would say "Fishy there is something about this...yes fishy"
