Cricket: Australian Ford Ranger Cup (One Day Cricket)

Recommended Posts

So apparently they have renamed the domestic one day cricket comp in Australia this year, reguardless of name it hits off this week in Queensland with the Bulls V Tigers. Links for the Cricket are www.cricket.com.au (links to all state pages are in here) www.baggygreen.com.au The market looks like: Queensland Bull $1.55 V Tasmania Tigers $2.35 And they line up like: Bulls: Jimmy Maher ©, Matthew Hayden, James Hopes, Clinton Perren, Craig Philipson, Brendan Nash, Michael Buchanan, Chris Hartley, Andy Bichel, Chris Simpson, Ashley Noffke, Nathan Rimmington, (12th man to be named). Tiger: Daniel Marsh (Captain), George Bailey (Vice-Captain), Michael Bevan, Travis Birt, Luke Butterworth, Michael Di Venuto, Xavier Doherty, Brendan Drew, Brett Geeves, Adam Griffith, Ben Hilfenhaus, Tim Paine. Weather forcast is a little cloudy, hitting a top of 23. It is fair to suggest that it will be a little dewy latter in the evening making the run chase a little easier, but there will be something in the pitch earlier with the Gabba usually starting the season with a lot of grass in the pitch early (given it's only October it should be very green!). Interesting fact: Michael Buchanan is Australian coach John Buchanans son! Last season: Round 11, 01-Jan-2006 at Bellerive Oval : Tas Tigers vs QLD Bulls 189 - 186 Round 2, 22-Oct-2005 at Gabba : QLD Bulls vs Tas Tigers 251 - 211 Tip: Queensland all the way here, Bichael and Noffke should be too good on a seamers wicket while James Hopes looks to be all class and will be keen impress the Aussie selectors. Also look for Hayden to dominate an average Tigers attack as he looks to move back into the opening slot for the Aussies in the one dayers on the back of a good DLF cup. So Queensland to win at $1.55 for 6/10 to start the season. Note: There are no other markets up at the moment and I doubt many will be offered until the season hits full swing. Also these teams are playing a 4 day game starting on the 13th. :cheers, Cricket is back!
