Semifinals of the Davis Cup. In the first singles game, Marat Safin will play against Andy Roddick, in the second game Youzhny will play against James Blake. The winner of this semifinal will face the winner of the match between Australia and Argentina. The semifinal between Russia and USA will be played in Moscow (Olympic Stadium) and the favorite team is Russia although USA never lost in the two past meetings against the Russians. USA has beaten Russia in the 1995 Davis Cup Final and since then USA never won this title again. The surface will be the indoor clay will favor the home team but we dont have to forget that USA almost starts with a point of advantage, the point that will be obtained by the double composed by Bob and Mike Bryan. The American players of the double won the 2003 French title and reached also the final in Paris this season. In the last nine games played in Davis Cup Bob and Mike Bryan won eight games. If Roddick wins his first macht against Safin, Blake could feel more confident and give one more point of advantage to the American team. Re: Tennis, Davis Cup Sept. 22-24 In my opinion that point won't be enough...Unfortunately for USA,the surface is a major disadvantage for them and I'm not so sure they'll overcame Rusia.Anyway, it will be a very very tight match ....Good Luck!
