Re: Mansion $3000 Freeroll Hmmmm ....... don't like it - don't like being "forced" to play casino games - games where odds are fixed, the casino has its edge and you CANNOT win!!!!!!! Having said that it may well be unpopular, making it a good freeroll!!! and if there are Casino deposit bonuses, this may well "cover" the house edge ...... They're probably hoping people get "sucked in"...............

Re: Mansion $3000 Freeroll

Inside edge have a great strategy chart which made me over $700 in vegas.......its on page 64 and basically tells you what to do' date=' follow it and your almost sure to break even at least[/quote'] Cheers mate :ok A win is short run variance ...... it is IMPOSSIBLE to win at this in a sustainable/long run way. (Yes I know I don't even know what Blackjack really is - but I know enough to know you cannot win!!). "your almosty sure to break even at least" - not true - If I follow the best strategy exactly, then in the long run I LOSE 3% of my turnover (or whatever the House edge is) - in the short run, I can lose more or I can lose less (even win!!!) but will on average lose by the house edge ...... noone should go into this under the misconception/belief they can win at this...... :ok Just for anyone looking for this - it's the August issue of IE :ok

Re: Mansion $3000 Freeroll House will always have an edge over ALL players.......but not individuals. 1 Player playing loose and not following basic strategy will lose more than house advantage which is usually 2-3% But a player playing basic strategy and sticking to those rules, will at least wipe out the house advantage.

Re: Mansion $3000 Freeroll Worth noting the set-up for blackjack at Mansion as strategy changes slightly according to number of decks etc...

MANSION's multi-hand blackjack game has the following features:
1.Play up to three hands at once.
2.Blackjack pays 3 to 2. All other wins pay 1 to 1 (your stake amount back).
3.The Dealer will always stand on 17 or more, including soft 17.
4.The option to double is always available for the first two cards.
5.Sweet sixteen side bets - anything 16 or above with your first two cards pays out - see pay table below for further details.
6.The game is played with six 52 card decks that are shuffled after each round.
7.If the Dealer shows an Ace as his first card, insurance is offered and pays at 2 to 1.
A quick search round the net should find you a strategy to fit the above.

Re: Mansion $3000 Freeroll

But a player playing basic strategy and sticking to those rules' date=' will at least wipe out the house advantage.[/quote'] Nope!!! You cannot wipe out the house edge!!!!!! YOu are right in what you say in that the further you move away from the basic stategy, the more you lose. If you play PERFECT blackjack, then you will (given enough games) lose by the house edge (3% or whatever it is), BUT you CANNOT beat the house edge!!! It is possible that the house edge is 0% in which case if you play perfectly you can expect to break even, and they make their money from those players who don't play perfectly. However I suspect this is not the case.......

Dunno about wiping out the house advantage but it will certainly help to reduce it. I reckon you could play 25 hands easily and come out either breaking even or with a small loss/win. Famous last words... :lol

Re: Mansion $3000 Freeroll

I know what your saying' date=' but surely a game where people cant win wouldnt be played?[/quote'] Your expectation is to lose. People (dare I say "mugs") play it because you can win in the short run. You cannot "beat" the game in the long run. But yes - people DO play games where you can't win!!!!!! Is the same for Virtual Racing and other such "games" at a bookies - there is no "skill" edge.... Play enough and EVERYONE will lose - you cannot win - ONLY in the short run due to variance......

Re: Mansion $3000 Freeroll

This is slightly different - the bonus may be enough to wipe out the house edge ........
Well i just played on coral again , did 25 hands, and ended up £2 up by stricktly sticking to the strategy from inside edge, the strategy is in every month incase people have earlier copies

Re: Mansion $3000 Freeroll + Blackjack discussion

I've found http://wizardofodds.com/blackjack useful when playing/bonus chasing in the past. I think the strategy is identical to IE but it's nice to have it online to reference.
Nice site :ok With the rules at Mansion, so far as I can make out, the House Edge is 0.41% :unsure. So if you play a perfect strategy and dont make any mistakes, you will lose 0.41% of your turnover in the long run........

Re: Mansion $3000 Freeroll + Blackjack discussion I do not play blackjack but this may be a good value freeroll, there are 2 things I would like to know. 1. What is the minimum stake at the blackjack table? if you can play 10 cents tables it would be worth it even if you lost every hand. 2. What time of day is the freeroll? I would not be interested if it is at 3 am UK time. I have just had an email from them offering me a refund if I bet $1100 on a Steelers match and lose, looks like they are trying to build up their casino and sports betting!

If you play BJ with correct strategy the house edge is very low indeed, somewhere in the region of 0.2% depending on the variation. So it becomes a positive expectation game when you either count the deck, or online, because the house edge is so small, when you receive a bonus. A lot of bonuses actually make it a PE game, so a lot of bonus whores out there are playing PE blackjack. So in the case of this freeroll while you do have an expected loss it'll be a tiny one, something as low as 5c depending on staking - so this is probably a good deal. Obviously over such a small sample results will vary considerably - if they have a really low minimum bet (ie 1c) you might be able to employ betting stategies to kill the variance, but it's prob a $1 min.

Re: Mansion $3000 Freeroll + Blackjack discussion I don't know what the house edge is for the rules they use on Mansion, but for those who think that because they're ahead so far they can be confident they can beat the house: If the house has an edge of 1%, then you'd need to play about 4,500 hands before your probability of being behind was more than 75%. 15,000 hands before your probability of being behind was more than 90%. 50,000 hands before your probability of being behind was more than 99%. So you can play an awful lot of hands and still be ahead through good, but not outrageous, luck, even if you're bound to lose in the long run.

Do I detect someone who also took Statistics at A Level many years ago? Those were the days - standard deviations, permutations and combinations, Chi squared ..... :rollin

How can you tell it was many years ago? :unsure
I noticed this little clue:
Actually' date=' I can vouch for the fact that the University of London has some people with rather strange politics. I met my first and only Stalinist Thatcherite there 20 odd years ago.[/quote']
