3 for me this week. 10pts Warwickshire to beat Nottinghamshire Evs Skybet Warwickshire have hit a bit of form recently, they beat leaders Sussex last time out in the Championship then beat Middlesex in Pro40 before thrashing West Indies A last weekend. Nottinghamshire beat Durham last week but before that threw away a certain victory against Lancashire. Warwickshire are at full strength except for Michael Powell. Dougie Brown returns from his match winning heroics for Scotland. Nick Knight made runs in the Middlesex match and Loudon took wickets in the WI A match so their 2 strong players are in good form too. Notts win over Durham will have given them a bit of confidence but the fact it was such a low scoring match may mean their batting could be a little suspect still. Nothing wrong with their bowling lineup but Warwickshire are a better side than Durham so an improvement is needed for Notts here. Warwickshire are in good form and I refuse to believe Notts will have their minds focused solely on this match ahead of a huge day on Saturday and I'm happy to be on Warwickshire here. 10pts Worcestershire to beat Surrey 13/8 Boylesports 2nd vs 1st in this 2nd division clash. Worcester come into the match having disposed of Glamorgan and Surrey won at Northampton last time out in the 4 day competition. Worcester have Phil Jaques back and he's a huge lift for them. With their bowling attack having been in good form all season all they needed was him to score runs at a quick rate early on and give them the starts he had been giving them before his international break. They have a much more solid look about them now. Surrey may be without Rikki Clarke who has a bruised thumb. He could be a big loss but they have some in form batsmen to compensate for the loss. Scott Newman, Mark Ramprakash and Mark Butcher have all made good runs recently and their 3 pronged spin attack was deadly against Northampton. Worcester play spin well though so they'll have to bowl well. Worcester will be itching to win and increase the gap on 3rd placed Essex with only 2 getting promoted and Surrey may also have 1 eye on Saturday's Twenty20 finals day. Home advantage is often key and all things considered Worcester are too big here so well worth backing. 10pts Gloucestershire to beat Northants 11/10 Bet365 Northants lost to Surrey last week and then to Durham in Pro40 at the weekend while Gloucester lost a superb match against Leicester but bounced straight back with a win over Somerset in the Pro40. Gloucester are once again without Aussie Ian Harvey for this match but are able to field England cast off Jon Lewis for the game. Their batting lineup still looks strong to me particularly witht he dependable Weston opening. They have good quality batsmen in their middle order and the lower order can all at too. Their bowling is good with Lewis there and he's backed up well by spin twins Fisher and Ball later on in these matches. Northants are in disarray, they've changed their coach recently, wicket keeper Riki Wessels is injured so Shafayat has to fill the wicket keeping duties despite not being a wicket keeper and all rounder Ben Phillips is injured. Their batting lineup didn't perform at Surrey apart from Rogers and Afzaal and their inconsistency has been the most noticeable part of their play this season. I can't even think of backing Northants in their current state, Gloucester are going along ok in the Championship and will be boosted by there Pro40 form and they are the obvious pick here.
