Re: How bad was this? A recent trend for me when I am heads-up with Ax v Ax is to be behind before and after the flop, pair my x on the turn, only to see my opponent pair his on the river. With your situation he has only had to make the minimum calls before the flop (I might have raised in his position) and after the turn when he probably can't call quick enough. I think Morl is right in that he would have called any bet after the flop too once that Ace was out. Probably the most unlucky bit is the flop as it meant neither of you was going to fold. :ok

Re: How bad was this? unlucky I might have bet that flop even with top 2 pair just because of the 2 spades - tho checking is fine if you are planning to check raise can't see how you could have played this any different Damo
