Re: Pop quiz (part V) - call or fold So let's see. The pot is 1390, and you have to pay another 640 to play. Odds of 2.1-1. His range - pretty much any high card, any pair (33-44+?), and two relatively high suited connectors, perhaps even any two random cards (since he's first in). Againt them his range, you're 2-1 dog. equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 33.5950 % 33.15% 00.44% { Jd7c } Hand 2: 66.4050 % 65.96% 00.44% { 44+, A2o+, KTo+, QTo+ } You could justify calling based on the odds, but is it worth it in terms of game position? You could go into the bubble with a CL, or double up shorty and drop to just over 2.5K. You'd still be in 2nd chip position, and if you're a better player than them, still well capable of applying your +EV edge. So, call if you think he's desperate, or sensible enough to be pushing any two. If he's been playing relatively tight, I suppose let it go. I'd want to call though.. these sort of situations are the chance to accumulate chips ready for the bubble.
