had another look and i can see where you are coming from if you look at the screen for South South West's race and the screen for River Sragon's race it says they didn't win their last race but if you click in the actual horse and look at their last races it says they did win last time out weird !!! hasn't the racing Post website updated correctly ?

. the prices i quote with the selections are only the forecast prices from the Racing Post website. the confusing bit was that 2 of the selections didn't show up as winning last time out until you actually clicked on the horses name.

Re: Quick System Regarding South South West its previous race before yesterday on the flat it came 7th. It then had 2 races over hurdles UR / won. Bearing in mind yesterdays race was over the flat its last form figure for running on the flat was 7th. I think the confusion is do we base the system on its last run flat or NH which in this case it won OR as yesterdays race was on the flat on its 7th position on its previous flat race. I know the horse won yesterday but it might help in future to clear up this grey area. I am certain the situation rises where a horse wins its last couple of races on the flat and then in its next race tries the hurdles and gets beat. This of course would have been a selection taking the last outing placing. It might then try the hurdles again and again get beat. This time it wouldn't have been a selection. BUT in its next race it reverts back to the flat and wins. It would not have been a selection taking its last form figure as it was a hurdle race but would have been a selection if you had taken its last run on the flat.

Re: Quick System As I don't know the rules to the system (and I'm not about to ask) I can't comment on the point Hilda has made, though I do understand how the confusion may occur. Re: Quick System Hi Hilda the system is based on its last run doesn't matter whether it is jumps or flat but its the racing Post website that is wrong its happened again today the selection is NEXT EDITION @ redcar 02:40 when you look at the Racing Post website's card for the race it says it finished 7th LTO http://www.racingpost.com/horses2/cards/card.sd?race_id=563631&r_date=2012-10-06#raceTabs=sc_ but if you click on the actual horse and look at it's last race on that screen it shows it won it. http://www.racingpost.com/horses/horse_home.sd?race_id=563631&r_date=2012-10-06&horse_id=758971#topHorseTabs=horse_race_record&bottomHorseTabs=horse_form both it's last two races were over hurdles the one before it's last race it FELL it didn't finish 7th ???? the website is not updating !!!! and the same applies to the Sporting Life website i have double checked today's and it is a selection

Re: Quick System Ralphie Thanks for clearing it up. The RP shows the horses last outings for the rules which is running under today. Next Edition last ran in a NH race and won but the RP shows it as being 7th LTO this is because the last race it ran on the flat it finished 7th and todays race is on the flat. Meganisi 2:20 Font. is very similar. RP is showing it won LTO but in fact it came 12/13 because todays race is under different rules. I appreciate this is not a system selection just to show how confusing it can be.

Re: Quick System Hi Hilda so what you are saying is that if a horse is running in a flat race then the form that shows on the Racing Post card only includes flat races and vice versa. but on the screen for each individual horse the form is shown for every race no matter if its flat or N.H. not so confusing once you know that. :unsure but very confusing if not a lot of people know that ;)

Its last two races were over hurdles and being that todays race is a flat race the race card only shows its recent flat form 224657. As you say if it had been a NH race and the horse in question had run in a flat race last time out the card would have shown its last NH form. Just another point on form figures on the race cards. Sometimes you see a horse with the form figure 1 and nothing else. On the face of it it looks like one race 1 win but sometimes if you click on the horse and see its full form it could have had many races under different rules which are not shown because this is the horses first race under the new rules, EG flat / NH.
