Ferru
From the BBC News Website (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/horse_racing/5132764.stm): 'eight people [have been] charged by City of London Police over race-fixing allegations... Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Wilmott of City of London Police said the investigation...had started when Betfair approached the Jockey Club. He said: "In early 2004, Betfair, an internet betting exchange, brought to the attention of the Jockey Club a number of what they considered to be irregular betting patterns.' Does anyone have any ideas as to how you spot an irregular betting pattern on Betfair? NB I should stress that I am asking a general question about spotting possible triers and non-triers, and my question is not meant to imply or suggest anything about whether those charged are innocent or guilty. AJ
Re: Alleged corruption I'm moving this to the general horse racing section, seems a better home for it. Not really related to TVP.
