sensibleboy
Ok. It maybe is a bit early to speak about the jumps but October will come quicker than we think. Personally I am a jumps racing fan through and through and struggle to cope with flat racing throughout the summer. I just dont find it as interesting and dont make it pay as much as the jumps. I have already starting constructing a list of my horses to follow for next season. Alot of these will seriously pay their way throughout next season and I will be backing them each and every time they run. Nicky Richards is a favourite trainer of mine and alot of my horses to follow will be from his stable as I find him a hugely profitable trainer to follow and he is still very underrated. I will update this thread in batches, putting up a small list at first then another small batch 3 or 4 days later. I have several from the Nicky Richards yard which I will put up within the first 2 weeks. Thereafter I will put up my other ones to follow which include another few from up north and also quite a few from down south. Nicky Richards Horses (Part 1) Monets Garden I really really cannot wait to see this horse upped to 2m4f+ over fences. I seen this horse when he made his chasing debut at Ayr in November and hand on heart I have never seen a nicer looking racehorse in all my life. He was a decent hurdler but looks a serious tool over fences. He just jumps for fun, never slows down and keeps on galloping. He ran 2nd in the Arkle over a trip far too short for him and yet he still beat several speedier horses by a long way bar Voy Pur Estedes. He then ran at Ayr on Scottish National day. He had to work quite hard to beat Le Volfoni but that horse is no mug and the way Monets Garden picked up that day shows he won with a bit in hand. Nicky has said the Peterbrough Chase and the King George will be his first two early targets next season and thereafter they will have a think about the gold cup. If this horse was with Pipe or Nicholls it would be favourite for next seasons gold cup. I favour Richards & Dobbin anyday and this horse is something special folks. Turpin Green Special but frustrating. Those 2 words describe this horse. He has a huge amount of ability but sometimes just doesnt put his best foot forward. He was primed to win a Grade 1 at Sandown in February bit just about ran out at the last throwing the race away. He showed his class however up the hill when rallying to go down by just a neck from Napolitain even though he gifted that horse 10 lengths by his mishap at the final fence. He was dissapointing at Cheltenham where his jumping let him down and his jumping also cost him winning at Aintree when beaten by Star De Mohaison even though he threw away at least a length at every fence. He is only a 7yr old and if he gets his jumping sorted out he really could be a special horse. 2m4f to 3m suits him fine and although he is a little quirky there is a huge amount of ability there and with another summer on his back he will be one to follow next season. Money Trix You know a chaser when you see one and this horse is a chaser through and through. He won on his first start for Richards at Kelso when scraping home in an average maiden hurdle over 2m2f. However he needed that run badly that day and has since come on leaps and bounds. He won next time out at Ayr by 25L and could have gone around again that day. The same comments applied next time out at Kelso where he also dotted up. He was then stepped up in class to face Black Jack Ketchum at Aintree. He did not run a bad race finishing 2nd ahead of several promising horses. He finished very fast that day and if you watch the way he jumped his hurdles he just doesnt seem to be 100% with it and chasing will be his game. Nicky said he could rise to the very top one day and as he is just a 6yr old he is a hugely promising horse for the future seasons. I can't wait to see him over fences. Faasel Yes he may be a very quirky horse but he is going chasing next season and should be followed. He seems to travel well in all his races but doesnt pick up as well as expected. Ive watched all of his races and it seems to me he may need further than 2m. He just seems to lack a vital turn of foot when push comes to shove but over around 2m4f he could turn out to be a very different horse. I can't say I think he will be a champion over fences as he doesnt have the breeding to suggest that, however if he turns his sensible head on next season over the larger obstacles, he is one to follow. Jazz D'Estruval Im not sure whats up with this horse. He ran in December when winning a handicap hurdle with ease. We haven't seen him since and he is a horse who has had numerous problems. He is 9yrs old now and I just hope we get to see him for a full season as he is hugely talented. He does need very soft ground to be at his best. If conditions fall in his favour, he is one hell a horse as he showed when beating Trabolgan in a novice chase at Haydock a few years ago, 10lengths on the bridle aswell. Just never ever back against him on soft ground. There is the first five from Nickys yard. I have several more but will put them up within the next 3 or 4 days. Monets Garden at 20/1 for next seasons Gold Cup is a seriously good bet. However I will not be placing any antepost bets till around September/October but will keep my planned bets updated on this thread up until then. The next bunch of horses will be from Richards yard aswell and I also have quite a few to follow from a few yards down south. Hope this is of interest to some of you and I will be keeping it going throughout the summer. :)
