Slapdash Does Omaha H/L

I've never played this. I know the rules, but that's about it. So I bought a book. "How to Win at Omaha High-Low Poker" by Mike Cappelletti. I know of him as a top bridge player, and he knows how to spell "high" and "low" (none of this "hi-lo" nonsense), which are both good signs. I've only read about the first chapter, but I like what I read. He claims that in a typically loose game, an expert has a very small advantage over a good player compared to the advantage a good player has over a poor player. That sounds like my kind of game, as I have enough self-confidence to think I can get reasonably good at any card game, but I'm not arrogant enough to think I can become an expert. It's hard to take in advice about a game you've never played, so before reading more I'm going to get some experience. I have an account on Royal Vegas Poker that I must have opened to play in some freeroll, but have never used since, and they've just emailed me to say they've put a free $10 in my account. I'm going to use this for my Omaha H/L Adventure, starting on the $0.05/$0.10 Pot Limit tables. The advice I've absorbed so far is: Tables with an average of more than 5 players seeing the flop should be loose enough to be profitable. At these tables, you can probably make a profit only playing hands containing A2, A3, and very good hands containing 23 or four high cards. So I'm going to go in with this knowledge (if and when I can find suitable tables) and see what happens. If anybody has tips (at this stage for rank beginners, but later on ... I hope ... for improving players), they'll be gratefully received.

Re: Slapdash Does Omaha H/L good luck with this slap. I've played it in the past and there are some awful players out there. Only prob with it is there are huge swings due to the number of hands everyone can make. One piece of advice I'd give. Never draw to a low hand unless its the nuts. Alot of the profit you'll make will be from taking the whole pot (I know theres a poker term for this but can't remember), or taking 3/4s of the pot when you split the low hand and take the big one. If your not drawing to the nut low you can quite easily end up with 1/4 the pot which is worth nothing to you pretty much.
