Stevie, Bristol Tourneys that I know of (All NL THE) : STANLEYS (Portwall Lane, opp. St. Mary Redcliffe Church) WEDS - £10 re-buy (90 min re-buy period) - 20.30 hours start FRI - £20 re-buy (90 mins) - 20.30 start SAT - £50 freezeout (£100 on first Saturday of each month) - 20.30 GROSVENOR (Anchor Road, Near "@ Bristol") SUN - £5 rookie re-buy (60 min re-buy period) - 14.00 hours start No doubt they have other tourneys too.... TRIANGLE (Clifton) Never played there, so no details. Stanley's is OK, the staff are fine, but its a bit "cliquey", as the regulars who have been going there years dont really like the new crop of players, no doubt because "we" are better than most of them, and deprive them of winnings.... This is a comment about last night at Stanley's from Nick Wright, another player who was there (From : http://poker.meetup.com/321/boards/view/viewthread?thread=1777434&pager.offset=10) "Not a great night! worst structure of any poker comp i've ever played in - 1000 chips, blinds 50-100confused.gif Having said that the first table i was at incl victor and mark mcgill and another saturday night regular so it wasn't bingo to begin with! Another reason i wont be going back is the atmosphere. There's definitely an old vs young divide there on a friday night and the second table i sat on this was very prevelant. For instance old guys lobbing a 500 chip in to a unraised pot without declaring raise or call was perfectly acceptable whereas if anyone under the age of 30 allowed their cards to just touch the line or not put their blind in immediately, smokes a lot lady, or gravely voiced grey haired man would naturally pull you up on it. I took particular umbridge (i don't think this word gets used enough) with one old player when i announced raise to 600 total - took my blind of 200 out of the pot and put in 600. I was told i shouldn't of done this. Was i in the wrong? I figured as i'd announced total then as long as i put in 600 it doesn't matter if i take my blind out and then put the 600 in? However the night was memroble for Vinny claiming someone had messed with his chips during the break, he even got richard to go and watch the video footage, then when richard said nothing was wrong asked if he could go and see the video with richard!" I am definitely looking forward to the impending launch of the New Gala Casino in the Harbourside on June 12th, with competitions most nights of the week, at mostly £10 or £20 freezeout, with all tables being dealer dealt, which is great as far as I am concerned...We can just concentrate on the Poker then....

Re: Bristol Casino Tourneys.....For StevieFlack Jeffster, I havent started the job yet, but landed myself as a poker consultant for Gala Harbourside, it is due to open in a couple of weeks i believe, I will be starting next Sunday I think. Not saying the cardroom will be definately be open in 2 weeks, but the opening is immenent I believe, otherwise they wouldn't have employed me. As I only deal with cardrooms now. Give me some feedback of what you would like to see please?
