mowgli77 Posted March 18, 2006 Share Posted March 18, 2006 General Duroc - 4.40 Newcastle I have been following this horse all season. It looked really genuine when winning earlier in the season. It then put in two poor performances before looking back to its best last time out. Unfortunately I deserted it last time and it duly obliged at 16-1. I won't make that mistake again. Jumps well, gets the trip and loves the heavy ground. I see Corlande as the main danger. Will probably start as favourite but deservedly so in my opinion. Aston Lad - 3.55 Wetherby I was at Wetherby Boxing Day to see Aston Lad put in a really good performance and got up to beat Birdwatch on the line. Birdwatch has won since (twice I think) and boosted the form. Aston Lad ran well last week to finish second and it's interesting to see the connections sending it out again so soon. Something not right with it today. The winner Habitual dancer won by a distance and if it turns out under a penalty it has to be backed. Aston Lad travelled really well all through the race and won well, despite being up 9lbs in the handicap. It was still on the bridle as the others were being hard ridden.
