Re: **Poker Saturday 11th February** I think you get to a point that (and this is perhaps my psyche here) you need to decide whether you're prepared to put your whole stack on the line for a hand. Were you in the money at that time? If you were then I'd have to say that hand could have made your tourney and propelled you to the final table. If not then I would have folded. BUT, this depends on your reading of the state of play etc. At the end of the day you survived longer by folding, so well done.;)

It was on the bubble - 31 left........ Though, I don't feel that is that important - I want to make the best decision to win the tournament - not limp into the money - which kind've suggests I should have gone for it.........

I want to win every tourney I play in, but choose (if possible) to make my moves after I get past the bubble. I understand that opinion seems to be in the minority, but playing poker is about profit, not trophies. I want to get ROI before I start to think about 1st place, always. That is how I 'move through the gears'. But, if you feel that hand could have put you in a position to win then you should have gone for it.

Do you agree with a contrarian style of play? i.e. if the table is passive, then play aggressive - if the table ie aggressive, then play passive ..... I do!!! Before the bubble - tables are typically passive - once you're past the bubble they become aggressive again!!!! We had 31 and 32 players for ages and ages tonight - once we went to 30 - nect time I looked (minutes later!!!) we were on 24 players - I couldn't believe it! If you play tight on the bubble, then loosen up once you hit the money, you are playing the same as everyone else!!

No. Simply because if I had made a move like player X did (a good play imo), then I would have walked into AA, not 88. I think that it all depending on your frame of mind at that time. I know you wanted to win, but at that time did you think you could? Realistically the answer is no, then the next question would be at that time did you think you could finish in the $$$'s? The answer is yes, so you did the right thing in backing down. The bubble is a complete mind fcuk imo.:@ *It took f00king ages to think of the best way to get my argument to say what I wanted.
