I don't like limping too much, and certainly not when the blinds are higher, but whilst the blinds are low, feel you can get away with it a little. Flop 4h Jh 9c First 3 players check I bet 65 into the pot of 100 The Button Folds Heniek (SB) calls Next 2 fold I missed the flop. A Queen gives me a straight, but I can't play for that!! With 3 checks to me and just 1 person to act after me, I make a play for the pot. Not a good move really against 4 opponents!!!! I am pleased to see the Button fold - he was the only one not to have checked before me, and it also means I will have position in any subsequent betting rounds. Heniek checked before me, then flat called after me - so I'm thinking he may have some kind of draw here - either flush or straight. Turn Qd Heniek Checks I check Well I hit the best card for me - a Queen and not a heart. I have the nuts at this point!! I check to trap. A very poor move!! If I had Heniek on a flush draw, I don't want to give him a free card that he can beat me with - if he hits and beats me, then he will beat, if he misses and doesn't, then he won't bet!!! I should be making him pay for this card!!!! River 9s Heniek Bets 20 I raise 130 Heniek folds The 9 opens up FH (even quads) possibilities - so there are now hands that beat me - however that's not what I have Heniek on, and I feel I have this won and want to extract what I can. Henieks bet of 20 into a pot of 230, is a poor bet. If I had 23o (i.e. no hands I could beat), I may well still pay 20, just to get to see his cards. My bet of 150 is hoping for a call from Heniek, but he doesn't oblige!! My guess is that Heniek was on a Flush draw, with hearts that don't otherwise connect with the board at all. I am now the big stack at the table - things are so far going to plan :ok
