StevieDay1983
It seems only fitting that after such an enthralling Punters Lounge Fantasy Football League season it would go all the way to the wire. In a dramatic twist, @DLL's Pain In Diaz team have moved to the top of the table after a mammoth 143 points haul. A few key decisions including deploying the bench boost, selecting Erling Haaland as captain, and having Josko Gvardiol in his squad contributed to the beast of a tally. It means last week's front-runner @StevenKing and his Lucky Pierre side are now in 2nd place and need to make up a 25-point difference in the final week. It's a tall order but it's not impossible. There's also the outsider in Timo Fernandez's Undisputed XI in 3rd place and only 2 points further behind King. As impressive as the 143 points earned by the new leader might have been, it was not the highest score of the week. That achievement went to the ambiguously named OC FC OC's OC OC who brought home a final total of 153 points. Not bad at all given the highest score in the world this week was 174 points. It was another bench boost decision that helped to boost the coffers along with the Haaland captain and Gvardiol inclusion. Whoever thought two Tottenham defenders could bring in so many points as well?! No offence Spurs fans! Sunshine and rainbows didn't fill everyone's game week though. At the wrong end of the table, there were plenty of storm clouds and rain. The lowest score of the week went to 198th-placed George Callaghan's SW1 Sweet who could only muster 27 points. I say only. It's far from the worst score we've seen in a round but given it was a double game week for some big teams and players, that's a poor return. It could've been even worse had the duo of James Ward-Prowse and Dominic Solanke not bagged over half the team's points. The Manager of the Week award that Callaghan earned back in Week 15 seems a lifetime ago now! This final round of the season also delivers the Punters Lounge Fantasy Football Cup Final which will see 6th-placed TJ Spiers' Chillymonsters play 20th-placed @MPM's Bayern Side. The winning team will win a Punters Lounge mug (or cup, if you will! ). It all comes to a conclusion this weekend! The deadline for transfers is a little later this week at 2:30pm UK time on Sunday 19th May. Best of luck to you all and may the best team take the title! chillymonster and MinellaWorksop
