philossify
Hi - just put some money into Sporting odds and want to make the raked hands requirements for the $100 bonus (play 100 raked hands and get fiirst 30). I talked to their help and they say "As long as theres any rake at all" and you've participated then hand counts :loon - is this true - if so I'm gonna play a quick 500 hands at 10c-20c limit to get the $100 whicjh I'll then splurge on tournements. This seems exceeding generous - too generous! So can anybody confirm that the help guy knows what he's saying? ... can't find anything online that clarifies things. Also anyone know how to figure out how many raked hands you've played in? Thanks in advance
philossify
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question As an aside - having played the 10c/20c limit tables I was appalled at the general standard of play and exceedingly happy at the profit rate potential on them - first impressions say I can actually make more money with less risk playing these low value tables than on bigger ones ($1/$2) .... :D
Valiant23
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question Terms & Conditions Download the poker room and when you have participated in 100 raked hands your account will automatically be given a free $30 bonus. When you have played a further 400 raked hands you will receive an additional $70 (totalling a $100 bonus for playing 500 raked hands). Please note tournaments (single and multi) with an entry fee (rake) attached count as 1 raked hand towards releasing the bonus. New poker clients only. Only one $100 bonus per client. A raked hand is a hand where you have contributed to the pot. Within 1 week of logging into the SportingOdds Poker Room you will receive an e-mail to confirm if you wish to receive the free poker guide and/or free year's subscription to Inside Edge. The e-mail will also ask you to confirm the delivery address. If you fail to confirm you wish to receive the guide and/or magazine via the links in the e-mail then you will not receive them. The guide and magazine subscription is only available to UK & Irish clients. In the event of any dispute, the decision of SportingOdds will be final. If, for any reason, the promotion is not capable of running as planned, SportingOdds reserve the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion. SportingOdds are the sole arbiters of the promotion. Please allow 24 hours for your account to be credited. You must have played 500 raked hands within 100 days of opening your account to qualify for the full bonus. I'd recommend e-mailing them, asking to confirm total no. of raked hands so far AND to confirm there is no conditions regarding which stake you play at for it to be considered a raked hand. philossify
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question :ok :ok :ok :ok SportingOdds has become my favorite site - get in while they have such a good deal :D Just had a session playing 10 cents/20 cents limit very very loosly to ensure I was contributing to the miniscule blinds and got the first $30 of my bonus. SportingOdds are indeed being very very generous! Even playing loosely I stilll managed to build $4 into $9 without any probs. Roll on next 400 hands, Was playing in the betfred $10000 gtd tournament at same time - really good value - $30 entrance fee - 89 entires and $10K gtd can't be bad. Unfortunately a couple of bad beats meant I came 19th (10th paid $200). Think its on every saturday.

Similar numbers I think (off the top of my head) - details in Value post of "Poker News". Will add this betfair tourney when I get a chance..... DAC
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question It takes a lot of work to get to 3000 hands in a month - sounds easy but it's not but I've qualified 3 times on the trot now and the cash is very handy, it is very possible to make a decent profit and the low-level tables. Also they do "reloads" on their casino - it's an easy way of making some cash just as long as you don't llose 25 consectutive BJ hands. I love the place. DAC
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question I can confirm that as long as there is a rake then it counts towards you total.
GaF
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question I'm giving this a try. Currently playing 2 tables of 0.05,0.10 NL Just asked live help and I'm up to 54 raked hands. I deposited £10 (which converted to $16) - currently on about $20. In one sense I'm happy with this as I haven't played a lot of cash games, on the other hand, there's such muppet play I'm disappointed I haven't done better....... DAC
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question One thing though - I never get my bonus straight away - it's always payed out on the 1st Day of the following month.

GaF
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question That's better!!! just packed it in with $36.40. Identified a real muppet who was easily wiped out. So that's $20 profit and not far from my $30 surely ...... Not bad at all......
GreenPlasticWateringCan
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question I've just started to play cash tables at sporting odds too. I've only played $0.05/$0.10 tables, but like philossify said, the standard of play is very poor, and it's possible to make some good money with minimal risk. I haven't played too much but am $90 up so far, and in one particular 2 hour session at a cash table, which I had in the background while playing a MTT, i got my original $10 up to $50. Also, it is fairly easy to rack up the 200 raked hands required to play in the weekly $1000 freeroll, which has less than 100 entrants usually so is great value
philossify
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question I found that it didn't seem to record my bonuses on cashier screen without logging out and back in. Wish they had a way of easily monitoring raked hand progress.
GreenPlasticWateringCan
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question Wish they had a way of easily monitoring raked hand progress. Yeah that would be useful. The only way to find out how many raked hands you've played is to email them or use live chat i think. And even then they can only tell you your total number of raked hands ever, rather than how many you've played in for example the last week. GreenPlasticWateringCan
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question Are raked hands counted in Tourneys games or only money plays? Here is the Sporting Odds definition of a raked hand: "A raked hand is a cash hand in which you contribute to the pot with betting or blinds, this hand must reach the flop and the pot must be of a sizeable amount for the house to take a rake (%). You need only be involved in the hand, losing or folding will still result in the hand going towards your raked hand total, additionally each cash tournament will add one raked hand towards your total." Hope that helps :ok
GreenPlasticWateringCan
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question When does their week run' date=' do you know? Sunday to Saturday? Monday to Sunday?[/quote'] I think to qualify for the freeroll (i'm guessing that's why you're asking this), you just need to have played 200 raked hands in the previous 2 weeks. I assume that means 200 raked hands in the 2 weeks before the start time of the freeroll, so basically for this thursday's freeroll I think you need to have played 200 raked hands between 7pm on thursday 15th sept and 7pm this thursday. GaF
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question Cheers GPWC - you guessed right why I was asking..... Hmmmm, Raked hands - so its another of those where you have to "contribute" for it to count - so playing tight doesn't help......then again, if we're raking (no pun intended) it in whilst doing it, don't spose it matters - just a bit slower........ philossify
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question :D My love affair with sporting odds continues - having got the poker bonus I thought I'd have a go at the casino bonus - so loaded down the casino and started into blackjack - put £50 through and you get £50 bonus. What i didn't realise was that in order to convert the bonus into real withdrawl money (or money you can play poker with) is that you have to put through 20 times the bonus (£1000). So a couple of hours later and with the benefit of a magic blackjack period I've got the £50 for real and another £90 due to my blackjack luck :dude . So my sporting odds account now stands at £200 from an initial deposit of £20 yesterday. All this from this thread pointing out how to get a free bet for entering a freeroll !!!! Nice thing is that SportingOdds seem to keep the goodies going, so it may well end up as my standard poker base for a while :D. My id on there is phil2211. Yeah you do have to contribute to the pot I think. I generally see a lot of flops anyway, especially with hands that could make straights eg 89 or 57. Even though I usually have to fold after missing the flop, it usually only costs $0.10 each time, and there are so many people in most hands that when I do hit something I make up for all the flops i've seen and then some ;) Like you say, even though it may take a bit of time to play 200 raked hands, i'd expect anyone with a reasonable standard of play to make a profit (or at the very least break even) whilst doing so :ok

Still value on the entry numbers you talk of......So I'll add it to "Poker News" Value anyway..... The Sunday has a $10,000 guarantee (entry $50) - definitely out of my league, but may be worth keeping an eye on for value if this is the level you play at..... GaF
Re: SportingOdds - raked hands question Forget that!! They've also made it a rebuy - so I've removed it...... The $10,000 sunday one is not rebuy however, so I have left that in......albeit with few details at the moment (regarding value!!)
