Asian Handicap Advantage

Recommended Posts

Hi all - I’m new to these forums. I’ve recently been getting interested in asian handicap football betting, and have noticed that the odds availalbe for a favourite to win at a -0.5 handicap are often marginally longer than the fixed win odds available for the same team at the same bookie. Not by much, maybe 11/10 instead of evens. I can’t figure out why this should be, as surely a win with a -0.5 goal handicap is the same bet as an outright win? Could anyone cast some light on this? Cheers - Gordon k

Re: Asian Handicap Advantage Hi Gordon K and welcome to the forum! The reason why you get marginally better prices with the Asian Handicap is because bookies have to price these matches up more competitively then normal match odds. Most bookies price up match odds to about a 110% margin. However with asian handicaps as there are only two outcomes they tend to be more competitive with margins being about 103%. I think asian hadicap betting is something that should be utilised more often as there is often a 100% book, if you look at the odds from the various different bookmakers.
