SP plus

Maybe this should be in "Bookies, Exchanges, ..." but since it's specific to racing, I'm posting it here. Superodds had a feature called SP+ ("starting price plus"), where they settled SP bets at a notch above SP. E.g., if you bet on a horse that had an SP of 11/2 they'd settle it at 6/1. I made a little money from them last year by betting on very short-priced horses (1/4 or less). Since it's a "well-known fact" that you lose very little at SP by betting on horses at these prices (the "favourite longshot bias") the theory was that the "plus" on the SP should make you a profit. And it worked while it lasted. But after a couple of months they stopped me placing bets at SP+. But now Superodds is no more, amalgamated into Centrebet, and I now have the option of using SP+ with my Centrebet account. And I don't want to waste it. I wondered if other people had experiences of having SP+ taken away from them by Superodds? Did they decide I was abusing it by betting on these short-priced favourites, or did everybody who made a profit get it taken away quickly?
