Add-ons

In rebuy tournaments, I know it's generally right to rebuy when you lose all your chips, since 2000 chips are worth a lot more than half of what 4000 chips (or a third of what 6000 chips, etc.) are worth. In some of these tournaments, you're given the option of buying extra chips (an "add-on") to the level of the rebuy amount when the rebuy period is over. If you have very few chips, the same logic means that it's right to add-on, but at the other extreme, it's clearly wrong to add-on if you're a huge chip leader (22,000 chips are not worth much more than 20,000). Where is the cut-off? Does anybody have a rule of thumb for when it's worth buying the add-on?

Re: Add-ons Personally i go for a Add-on when im below avr. in chips... or only a little in front... And skip the add-on when im way over avr.. where it breaks, i dont know exactly. Thats a thought i take, when im in it.. / cains
