The Turkish Airlines Open. 29th Oct-1st Nov. Antayla, Turkey

The final series for the European tour begins at the Maxx Royal in Antayla with a fairly attractive field. Last years winner Brooks Koepka will not take part. Rory makes one of his rare appearances anywhere and slots in at 9/2 favorite. You will need a strong constitution to take those odds. The challenge may well come from a host of players including recent winner Andy Sullivan, the world class (on his day) Charles Schwartzel, fearless rookie Matt Fitzpatrick, the enigmatic Bernd Weisberger and a bunch of top players on the periphery. It should make good viewing over the four days with plenty of birdes and more up for grabs.

OUTRIGHT WINNER; IAN POULTER EW 25/1 (general) PLACE1,2,3,4,5.

Ian Poulter may not be everyone's cup of tea or favourite uncle but at some stage personalities have to be put to the side and his sporting prowess has to be looked at. Mr Marmite is undoubtedly a talented individual at this game but sometimes his over zealous persona gets in the way of achievement

Poulter finished 5th two years ago before losing out to American Brooks Koepka by a single shot last year. That was mainly due to a disastrous 75 in the third round. Therefore course credentials are in order. The Englishman showed up well early on whilst hosting the British masters at Worburn before corporate duties took their toll.. There should be plenty of challengers biting at his heels if he gets in to contention. However the rested course horse should be looking to stick in four rounds in the sixty's, something I believe necessary to win here,. I think it's high time the postman delivered another cheque. GL
