morlspin
Following the enormous success of the original Las Vegas Team Challenge, we are delighted to announce the imaginatively named “Las Vegas Team Challenge II”, a bigger, better and more rewarding team poker event. We are offering at least $42,000 of prizes packages, plus some added value prizes to be awarded at the live final. Prizes First prize is a Las Vegas package worth $24,000, which equates to $6,000 per player in the winning team. Second prize is a European package worth $12,000 which equates to $3,000 per player in the runner up team. There is a further prize of a $6,000 Las Vegas package for the winner of the coveted Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. And as if that is not enough, the Live Final will feature over $6,000 in extra prizes. What is the Las Vegas Team Challenge II? It is an online team league, running from Monday 14th March 2011 to Thursday 19th May 2011. Each week there will be two league games taking place online, where 50% of the prize pool generated is retained to fund the Live Final Prizes. The other 50% is paid out to players as per the payout structures further down this page. Each week players earn points, which are totalled up to create a running total for your team. These points are converted into the starting stack, if you and your team qualify for the Live Final on the weekend of 28th and 29th May 2011. A player’s best score from the two league games, will be added to their team total. This means a player can choose to play in either or both of the weekly league games. The points structure for the weekly league games is further down this page, and varies dependant on the number of players in the league game. Teams must be between 2 and 4 players in the last date for team registration is Sunday 24th April, which gives enough time for the whole team to play in all 8 tournaments, over the remaining 4 weeks to qualify for the Live Final. Submit your team here. Where is the Live Final and what will it be like? The live final will be held at Circus Casino, Star City, Birmingham, B7 5SA. It will be a 2 day event and will start at 2.15pm on Saturday 28th May, finishing late on Sunday 29th May 2011. Players will play poker, having been initially drawn where possible on different tables to your team members, and will earn points (see further down) which go towards your team’s Live Final score. The team with the most points wins the $24,000 Las Vegas Team package, the runner up team wins a $12,000 European package. The prize pool to fund these packages is generated by us retaining 50% of the prize pools from the weekly league tournaments. In the event of there being any extra money in the pot, we will pay this out to individual players in the Live Final as per the payout structure on the Final Event page. In the event of their being less money in the pot than the $42,000 needed for the Main Event prizes and MVP Prize, we’ll make up the difference! Furthermore, we will be offering an additional prize of a Palm Beach Big Game seat package, worth over $2,250 for the player that wins the Live Final outright, plus another $4,000 in runner up prizes, in addition to bounties on certain player’s heads and a superb freeroll on the Sunday for those eliminated players. See the Live Final page for more information. In order to qualify to represent your team at this fabulous Live Final, you simply need to have played in at least 8 of the weekly tournaments. There are 10 rounds in total with 20 tournaments taking place. Note: A player joining late, or one who has missed some rounds is able to ‘catch up’ by playing both games in a single round, but only their best points score each week will contribute to their team total. Read all about the Live Final in more detail here. Most Valuable Player (MVP) The Most Valuable Player (MVP) prize is a fantastic $6,000 Las Vegas Package, and will be awarded to the Las Vegas Team Challenge II MVP. Individual Player points, earned during the 10 weeks of competition will be divided by 100 and will form your League MVP points for the Live Final. The Live Final points you earn will be added to your League MVP Points to create your overall MVP Points total. The player with the most points, wins the $6,000 Las Vegas Package. In the event of the winning MVP Playoff player also being part of the winning team, the MVP winner will be offered an alternative package so they can take advantage of both. Example; Paul earns 20,000 points during the 10 weeks of competition. He starts the Live Final with 200 MVP Points. Karl earns 15,000 points during the 10 weeks of competition. He starts the Live Final with 150 MVP Points. Gary earns 12,200 points during the 10 weeks of competition. He starts the Live Final with 122 MVP Points. Karl has to finish 51 points better off (51 places higher) than Paul to beat his Live Final MVP score, assuming they both finish in the top 100. Gary has too finish 29 points better off (29 places higher) than Karl, and 79 points better off (79 places higher) than Paul to beat them both to the MVP crown, assuming they all finish in the Top 100. If Paul finishes outside the top 100, Karl still has to finish 49th to beat Paul’s score. League Games Schedule There are 10 Rounds, each with 2 available games, one at 19:30 on Monday nights and one at 19:30 on Thursday nights. Therefore players are able to play in up to 20 tournaments. A player’s best score from each round counts towards their team total, so if Bob plays on Monday and scores 1000 points, and plays again on Thursday in the same Round, and scores 1500 points, he will generate 1500 points for his team and for his individual total. Haichan
Re: Las Vegas Team Challenge - New Season I was orginally going to opt out. However they have changed the format. Final table will all be paid. In addition you only have to play 8 of the 20 events as their are 2 a week but only your best weekly score counts towards the final. Finally as we saw at the last final, starting with a chip disadvantage as we did is no problem. In effect even if you play every week you will be buying into the final for $90 this time. Last time it was $150. With a wider range of prizes I think its better value this time. So Andy happy to join you in a team
