4.25 Salisbury: Custom Cut 13/2 bet365/Coral Big price this for a horse who not long ago won 6/7 races including a Group 2 at Sandown over this trip. Does have the penalty but in this grade that shouldn't stop him from going close here. 9th in the Lockinge wasn't a terrible effort and then second at Epsom behind Arod was a very solid performance. Last time went too far at stork and didn't seem to stay well enough behind Tullius and now back at his ideal trip he can get revenge on that horse. He's also won on soft ground so if the rain comes he should be ok.

Font 1.45 - Prince of Silver - EW at 100/1 bog wm hill Novice hurdle With a couple of penalised runners, one from France that hasn't run over sticks and a chaser with a poor hurdles record dominating the market it could be a chance for an outsider here I'm going for a big priced one having his third run after being pretty well beaten on his first two. However there is some hope as he ran OK up to a point and then faded. Maybe he'll strip fitter now and keep going further into the race Small trainer has a 25% record at the tack with 3 wins from 12 runners

B3.05 Edith Weston e/w 40/1 Betvictor This price looks too big to ignore in a race where there are the dead 8 runners and siginificantly 5 of those are having their 3 runs. Those 5 could well be given quiet races here to go on to achieve a low handicap mark next time out and I certainly don't see all 8 running on merit. That leaves the 3 places open for grabs and whilst this one showed little on its only run, the trainer and jockey have good stats and the horses sire produces a +195% ROI at this course which is a tricky one so that's a good positive to have.

4.25 Salisbury: Sovereign Stakes (Group 3), 1m Plenty of classy individuals in the line-up; last years winner Captain Cat will have a shot again but may find this a hotter renewal. Custom Cut at head of the field is likely to run his usual race from the front. He's always dangerous if allowed to lead. His penalty won't make it easy when it's crunch time, though. Classy Kodi Bear heads the challenge of the classic generation. His weigh for age allowance is a big asset and he hasn't done much wrong this year. He'll be very competitive, however I feel he is not the right price in this competitive field. Tullius drops back to 1m which may not suit on the quick ground. But he certainly has found his form again. Even the big outsiders Short Squeeze and Dark Emerald can't be discounted here and have a chance to pick up some price money. But the 6/1 for progressive Moohaarib looks over the top. He flopped in the Lockinge, but that was a Group 1 and he may not have shown his true class that day. Imagine he wouldn't have run that day and would come into today with his penultimate form, he'd be clear favourite I guess. He looked smart when winning a Listed contest at Ascot, travelling like a dream and never saw the whip. If he can find back to that form he'll be hard to beat I feel. Moohaarib @ 6/1 Sportingbet
