Re: Weekly NAP Competition, Day 2, Monday 8th June 2015 2.45 Thirsk Archilles win 10/1 bet365 This one suited by the drop in trip to a mile lto , coming 4th in a cl5 3yo h/cap , in a race where the winner off 64 has since followed up with two wins off 70 & 76 , 2nd won by 6L , 3rd won nto as well. Was a further 2.25L to the 5th horse so form looks decent enough , dropped a lb since last run and could be an improver.

Re: Weekly NAP Competition, Day 2, Monday 8th June 2015 4.30 Ayr - Sewn Up win @ 9/2 PaddyPower I thought Sewn Up was given a chance by the handicapper lto as he was dropped 6lb, from 59 to 53, before his last run. He took advantage of the mark and was only 1 length behind the winner in 5th. He is on the same mark today and is in a much weaker race after being dropped in class from a class 5 to a class 6. He is up in trip which should be fine as he has won over this far in the past and the ground is similar to what he faced last time so the good to soft ground should also be fine. He has not won on turf and is much better on the AW (Has been rated as high as 66 as recently as March) which is a major concern but this is his lowest turf mark in almost a year, and on the evidence of his last run its hard to say that he won't have a win in him on the turf at sometime and this looks like a great opportunity to notch his first.

Re: Weekly NAP Competition, Day 2, Monday 8th June 2015 P7.10 Rock On Bollinski 16/1 PaddyPower Brian Ellison booking S De Souza catches the eye on this unexposed horse in first time cheekpieces. This is the horses 2nd run since the switch to the Ellison stable and when the money comes it should be noted. Interestingly PP are a standout 16/1 and some other bookies have cut their prices already so the early signs of a gamble are there. Pickard was on last time when the horse wasn't put in the race and I suspect it might be a very different story tonight.

Re: Weekly NAP Competition, Day 2, Monday 8th June 2015 Pontefract 7.10 Handiwork (10/3 ladbrokes) If non runner Pontefract 9.10 Sleeping Apache Handiwork has won 3 times in 20 attempts. That isnt a great strike rate, but his wins have been in a 15 furlong class 5 good/soft, 16 furlong class 4 soft and 17 furlong class 4 good/soft. Interestingly all his defeats have either been class 1-3 races or at distances of less than 15 furlongs. In fact all 4 of his races since his hast win in October 2014 have been in either class 1 or class 3. He would perhaps prefer a bit more give in the ground but he finished 2nd on good/firm back in May 2013 beaten only 3/4 of a length so might be ok on the ground.

Re: Weekly NAP Competition, Day 2, Monday 8th June 2015 4.30 Ayr: Mystical King 22/1 Bet365 Backing Linda Perratt at Ayr has been profitbale for me so far this season so on a poor days racing i so no reason to oppose this outsider here. Showed nothing in his first 3 races over a longer trip but when dropped back to 7f we saw a glimmer of hope and was only 4 1/2 lengths behind Sewn Up who is well fancied today. Strictly on the book they should finish side by side today so worth a sporting punt at the prices.

Re: Weekly NAP Competition, Day 2, Monday 8th June 2015 Thirsk 2.15 - Master Mirasol - win at 14/1 boyles 2yo maiden Going for the Kevin Ryan horse here - a newcomer so no form but sprint bred and Ryan likes to win at his local tracks. This is a race for horses that were bought for under 30K and mine was 28K so he's at the more expensive end of the field three pound claimer up who has already won 2 races for Ryan this month

Re: Weekly NAP Competition, Day 2, Monday 8th June 2015 3.30 AYR OUR BOY JACK @ 10/1 Betvictor Beat the fav 3l in October over CD and is now 3lb better off. Will like some juice in the ground so hopefully it doesn't dry up too much. Has run 5 times over CD and in 4 of those runs has won or been beat 2L or less

Re: Weekly NAP Competition, Day 2, Monday 8th June 2015 3.15 thirsk kellys finest should appreciate the step up in trip and drops to a fair looking mark of 68. no ground concerns, so improvement for the trip and with being 3lb lower than last time, gives her a cracking chance in my book. johnston runner does look dangerous, but plenty to prove and the value lies with kf. 1pt win 7/2 paddy power bog
