Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th

Re: Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th Chelmsford City 3:40 - Merdon Castle WIN @ 4/1 Bet365 This 3 year old out of Acclamation won on debut at Kempton and then was a 1/2 length second behind Kool Kompany of the Hannon yard at Windsor and that horse was a Group 2 winner at the Curragh. He was then well down the field in the Windsor Castle stakes but that was ultra competitive and can be forgiven. On his return he ran ok when 2nd behind Hawkesbury at Kempton and he should come on buckets for that run.

Re: Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th 2.35 - Kempton - Runaiocht - 8/1 - Hills BOG Runaiocht drops into a Class 7 for the first time and comes here in decent form off the back of a 2nd of 14 over this distance 26 days ago in a Class 6. Only Sabre Rock finished ahead of him that day and that horse has now won 4 on the spin over this distance so the form looks okay. He also pulled hard on that occasion so if Jimmy Quinn can get him to settle down then he must go close off the same mark as last time.

Re: Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th 16:45 Kempton Rizal Park 0.5pts e/w 8/1 Betfar (BOG) Andrew Balding and David Probert team up on Rizal who is 2/3 (66%) on this course and has been successful at the course and the distance. Still 5lbs higher than last win but, according to the race reader, didn't get the run of the race last time and might still have a bit left in the tank. Looks worth an each-way bet at 8/1

Re: Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th 2.35 Kempton 2nd of 2 class 7 handicaps which kick off this card however quite competitive for the grade and a few are actually in form. Young Jackie has potentially fell to a dangerous mark and Queally is an eye catching booking (does ride for this yard a lot in the summer) however recent efforts have lacked any spark and has something to prove now. Bison Grass ran well over 7f in a similar event to this. Step up in trip may bring out more however is a big step up in trip. That was his first run for nearly 6 months so could easily bounce and overall profile wouldn’t suggest he would back that effort up especially from a very wide draw. Pipers Piping is another dropped to a dangerous mark and has shown some promise recently, but first try at this trip and not the most reliable. Happy Jack comes a from a shrewd yard that sometimes target these weak races for a gamble, its impossible to know what he is capable of having shown nothing in 3 turf maidens in June also drawn out wide. Navajo Dream remains a maiden but put his best effort when chasing home the well handicapped Officer In Command last time out, wouldn’t need to improve to much to feature here and of the principals he is one of the best drawn. 1pt win Navajo Dream 6/1 hills

Re: Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th Kempton 2:35 : Vied @ 8/1 paddypower e/w thanks Vied.....from Ed Vaughan yard the 4yo has struggled to find any descent run of form with 11 races ran its only found a place once a 3rd at Lingfield AW 1m last August, It ran at Wolverhampton AW 1m4f with the blinkers on for the first time 30 days ago and showed a bit better in running where it was held up till and made effort entering final furlong and was one pace in last 200 yards to finish 4th, Since that last run the yard had time to work on it with blinkers on at yard and a bit of stamina work, with it coming back 2f in distance to 1m2f and blinkers on again, Jockey Luke Morris was on board last race for first time and yard have booked him again so he may have gave trainer some good info on horse

Re: Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th Chelmsford 4.40 - Precision Five (1pts win, 7/4 Bet365) Comes into this in good nick having gone close twice at Lingfield beaten 3/4 length and a short head he managed to dead heat lto at the same track coming from the back and hitting the line well. Today will see a step up in distance and I think it should be okay with it and the extra trip could actually bring out more.

Re: Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th 2.30 Chelmsford: India's Song 9/4 Skybet/SJ Slightly on the drift but worth following after winning at 33/1 last time at Kempton over a trip not ideal. Back up to 10f here and with the same decent claimer on board can follow up. Pirate Cove is being backed but last time he bombed out and has had only two runs since coming from Ireland and may need more time.

Re: Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th 3.05 Chelm - Glorious dancer - win at 2/1 bog wm hill mile handicap for 3yo Only 4 runners here and one of them is a disappointing horse with suspect stamina who can be overlooked Mojawiz has looked one paced over 10F and difficult to see a drop in trip in a small field being the answer. On the plus side he drops in class Plaisir is the current favourite - he has improved his finishing distance behind the winner in each of his 3 maidens. Has been staying on over 7F which suggests he might be suited by a mile. I'm jusy opposing him because his speed figs have been stuck at a low level, not really showing any improvement and some way behind my selection My selection is quite experienced, having his 3rd handicap run. Has better speed figures than Plaisir. Has also looked as though a mile should suit

Re: Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th 16.45 Kempton: Rocket Ronnie @ 10/1 PP Rocket Ronnie is back after a break and fitness is a concern, but he has his first start for new trainer Ed McMahon who had his small string in fantastic form lately.Gibbons booked is another bonus and confidence boost for the five year old who can race off a feather weight here. The Mahon/Gibbons combo has a 100% strike rate this year (2/2). Rocket Ronnie is 4lb below his last winning mark, and has been a neck beaten off 1lb higher than current last summer in a good Handicap. However he has never raced on All-Weather before. On pedigree he has every chance to get on well though. With the positives outweighing the negatives, a chance his taken on him to prevail today.

Re: Nap Of The Day > Wednesday February 4th 13:05 Cagnes-sur-Mer: MADOKA @ 5/2 Bet365 MADOKA (6) has the best recent form in the field and finds a good opportunity to open her account in the Prix de la Maurienne (4yo Flat Handicap) at Cagnes-sur-Mer today. If she can repeat on the turf what she has just shown on the fibresand when a solid runner-up in similar company over 10f last month, Jean-Claude Napoli's trained-filly should be hard to beat.
