Nap Of The Day - Saturday 4th October

Re: Nap Of The Day - Saturday 4th October 3:50 Ascot - American Hope (15/2 BetVictor) 1pt Win Last run is best ignored as nothing went to plan and probably not suited by Goodwood. Best judged on previous run when desperately unlucky with the draw over a furlong shorter at the royal meeting. 3yos have a patchy record in this but he is potentially better than a handicapper and should be well up to going close off 104.

Re: Nap Of The Day - Saturday 4th October Ascot 3.15 Reckless Abandon went close for us last time out and deserves another chance especially here at Ascot where he won as a 2yo at the Royal meeting. Now with Godolphin he has ran two decent races so far this season and now should be his time to strike. I'm going to give Lucky Kristale a chance here now back at 6f, she has been trying a mile without success and ran well enough last time to suggest all is not lost with her and she is a big price here on some of her form. Selections: 1pt Reckless Abandon 15/2 >BetVictor Res: (Lucky Kristale 14/1 Hills)

Re: Nap Of The Day - Saturday 4th October Ascot 3:50 Almargo @ 18/1 bet365 e/w Thanks Almargo.......from the Mark Johnston yard who only got horse in March from Charlie Appleby yard where it only had 3 runs with only a 3rd place on AW to show , With Johnston he must have the touch as it won his first 3 races on AW for Johnston , Its had 15 races this year for yard winning six races from 6f to 7f on good to firm and good ground and on the all-weather , In last race at Leopardstown over 7f (good to firm) last month it showed up well 2nd only to be beat 1/2 length by Baraweez Jockey Royston Ffrench won on it three races back at Goodwood 7f (good ) by 2 lengths and Royston takes to the saddle again after Joe Fanning was on board that Leopardstown race,

Re: Nap Of The Day - Saturday 4th October Ascot 2:40 - Encke @ 6/4 Bet Victor If Encke runs up to near his best here, he wins cosily in my opinion, he oozes of class. Won the ST Leger in 2012, was off for a while due to a drug problem with the former trainer. Finished behind Pether's Moon on his comeback but that was his first run for shoving on two years, it was very impressive. Finished 3rd in the Irish ST Leger behind Brown Panther last time out and should beat Pether's Moon this time round

Re: Nap Of The Day - Saturday 4th October Newmarket 3.30 - Miss France (1pts win, 5/1 BetVictor) A fascinating race and plenty of chances but the one I'm just siding with is Andre Fabre's Miss France. She has won on her two starts at the track including of course the 1,000 Guineas. She was beaten lto on soft ground by Esoterique but only by 3/4 length and this return to faster ground is a plus.

Re: Nap Of The Day - Saturday 4th October Redcar 15:05 Limato 1pt win @ 9-4 Bet365 Unbeaten and comfortably beat Cotai Glory in his last run at Newbury. Cotai Glory was a very unlucky loser in the Flying Childers at Doncaster when unseating George Baker when leadding well inside the final furlong and runs in the Prix L'Abbaye tomorrow at Longchamps. The selection is well in at the weights due to the conditions of the race and looks a value bet to win @ 9-4.

Re: Nap Of The Day - Saturday 4th October 14.40 Ascot: Cumberland Lodge Stakes (Group 3), 1m 4f Pether's Moon: Big win in Turkey recently, consistently well throughout season against top class opposition. Ground independent. Sets very high standard. But gives also weight away. Parsh Hall: Up in trip, first time over 12f. Chance on pedigree cause out of Montjeu mare. Needs quick ground to be seen at his best, rain at Ascot counts against him. Won G3 at the Curragh earlier this year. Don't Stare: Progressive handicapper, looked potentially smart when winning conditions stakes at Doncaster in impressive style. Step up in trip, chance to stay on pedigree, though not entirely likely to suit. Obvious question is if he is good enough to compete on this level. Markedly step up in class and much more required today. Encke: Seem to be as good as ever. Good third in Irish St. Leger when last seen. Drops in class today. Collateral form with Pether's Moon when runner-up behind him at Goodwood. Fair and square beaten that day but was only back after long break. Gets plenty of weight from PM today and with that chance to turn form around. Trip potentially on sharp side. Rain not quite sure to suit. Energia Fribby: A prolific Group 1 winner in her native Brazil. Made an excellent UK debut with Listed success at Chester. Travelled very strongly and made smart move on outside from over 3f out. Best form with cut in ground so any additional drop of rain would suit. Needs to take form to new level though, as this today is tougher. Gets plenty of weight from more fancied rivals. Verdict: Encke has a good chance to turn things around with Pether's Moon as there is quite some swing in the weights. The former St. Leger winner seems to have retained his ability after a long break and followed up on his good comeback run, with a strong third in the Irish St. Leger. He's short enough in the market though, and this drop in trip with cut in the ground might not entirely suit him. Peather's Moon with his recent top run in Turkey sets the standard, he'll be happy on the ground and should go very close once again. He might find things a bit tough giving weight away, though. Parish Hall isn't one to trust on ground that is likely to come up soft. Don't Stare showed potential, but it remains to be seen if he is good enough here. Leaves us with Brazilian filly Energia Fribby. A multiple Group winner in her native country, including a Group 1 over 12f on softish ground. She'll relish any additional drop of rain today and she looked very promising on her recent UK debut run at Chester when she won quite nicely in Listed company. This is tougher today. But she might still be able to be a bit better and has a chance to run big from bottom of the weights today. I consider the prices available for her, as too big. Energia Fribby @ 5/1 Bet365

Re: Nap Of The Day - Saturday 4th October 3.05 red bronze maquette @ 12/1 bet 365 after going through the trends for this race this one comes out on top. Def respect the fav but I think my selection is a more experienced horse, won't mind the rain if it comes and could be drawn well.. This is a slight drop in class and I'm happy with the price.

Re: Nap Of The Day - Saturday 4th October 2.05 ascot steps. deserves to win a race of this nature and i feel has every chance today, especially if the rains come as predicted this afternoon. stays on stronger than most over this trip, so if can get the breaks, then i see no reason why he should be involved in the finish of this race. 0.5 pts ew 7/1 bet victor bog
