Wade’s confidence was boosted when he won the European Tour event in Gibraltar at the end of last month and he was only edged out in a deciding leg by Gary Anderson in the quarter final in Dusseldorf last week. We know Wade knows how to get it done here because he has won this tournament in the past and with a point to prove on the top stage having been left out of the Premier League, Wade certainly won’t lack for motivation. He’s in a nice little section of the draw where he should find a rhythm early in the event which he can use later to land another Matchplay crown.
