Down Royal 8:30 I had a few quid on Strait Of Zanzibar here who looks a bit overpriced to me. His optimum trip is 7 furlongs in my opinion so we should see him to best effect dropping back down in trip. At this trip, this is the lowest mark he has ever run off (74). He finished a close enough 3rd behind Bronte at Tipperary off a mark of 85 this time last year so he is now 11 pounds lower this time round, he is off a nice handicap to strike. He was placed a couple of times on the all-weather at Dundalk earlier this year so he has been kept fit and he had his turf opener at the Curragh earlier this month. Cheekpieces go back on tonight and I think he can run a big race. Strait Of Zanzibar WIN @ 16/1 Bet Victor

Re: Flat Racing > Friday May 30th 8.10 Catterick - Lorimer's Lot 0.5pt E/W @ 14/1 (BOG BetVictor) I like the chances of the Mark Walford trained Lorimer's Lot in the 5f sprint at Catterick (and not only because he is wearing Leeds United colours and named after a club legend!). The 3yo filly has had 10 racecourse starts and won twice, once over C&D in a maiden and the other in a Cl4 at Ripon, again at 5f. Although she has form on GF, I think the (drying) soft ground will be fine - her sire has decent stats on the surface. You can make a case to forgive her her disappointing showing at Beverley LTO when poorly drawn, and she looks to have thrown in a couple of below par runs in her time before bouncing back. This is a horse who was third in the Hilary Needler and 10L behind Rizeena in the Queen Mary Stakes last year and I just think she could have been overlooked in the betting. Worth a punt at the price.
