chris34
6.15 Wolverhampton Class 7 event and a very typical field of characters who find it hard to win these days. Speedyfix has ran 2 better races recently and has dropped to 10lb below last winning mark, he could go well in a weak event from a good draw but price reflects that. Outbid was again not beaten far last time out, given his overall profile he is unlikely to back that effort up with just 1 win from 20. Dear Ben went aswell as he ever has done last time out in a similar event but remains a maiden for a reason. Ishetoo has quicly gone back into his shell based on his latest effort and bounce back required. Lord Buffhead should go well returned to this 5f trip around here and also 4lb better off. Hard to oppose but again his price reflects his chance at around 3/1. Vhujon is consistent but has not won a race since January 2012 so has to be opposed. The one that looks hugely over price is Methaaly, he has frustrated me all winter having looked a winner waiting to happen several times this winter often finishing well but never quite getting there, only his 2nd try in class 7 and should he get a decent gallop to chase he should go well, would love to see him ridden just a little more prominent although wide draw not helpful to that so likely to be held on to again. 1pt e/w Methaaly 16/1 SJ 7.45 Wolverhampton Prime Exhibit appears to have gone off the boil a bit recently and has to be passed over at present. Run It Twice might just be held by the handicapper based on his latest efforts although will appreciate this return to a slightly longer trip and has won off higher marks so cant completely rule out. Mr Red Clubs could be hard to beat based on his latest run beaten only 1/2length off this mark in the first time hood, he remains on a very good mark some 9lb below highest winning. For me Special Mix looks a huge price, he isn’t a regular winner infact just 1 win from 16 flat runs, he wasn’t beaten far on penultimate start, not so good next time out when slowly away and then raced far too keenly. Martin Lane takes over today, he looks worth a try back over this shorter trip with a more positive ride and he could go well at a price fingers crossed we get the 3 places. 1pt e/w Special Mix 16/1 SJ
