3.05 Southwell Few old favourites in this, Spic N Span is struggling for much form this winter hardly beating a rival all winter season. He does go well here but again shown nothing around here so easy to pass over. College Doll has struggled off her revised mark since winning, has run once here and showed enough to suggest she handles it but probably best watched. Dissent stepped up on his 2 comeback runs in sellers around here with an improved effort at Lingfield last time out in handicap, off same mark today but not totally convinced he is as good on this surface. Caramelita is hard to predict but can produce useful form around here, always risky. Incomparable hasn’t been seen for nearly 800 days which is a worry, but on a good mark probably best watched. Heartsong has been running ok in sellers last twice over CD, he is dangerously well handicapped on very best but not shown any form anything like his best and is probably best avoided back in handicap. Dancing Freddy is probably best option in a wide open race. He has won 2 times around here and will appreciate this return to 5f having gone far too hard last time out over 6f, he has dropped 12lb below his last CD winning mark and should run well in this smaller field. 2pt win Dancing Freddy 10/3 bet365 3.45 Southwell Fantastic looking handicap, really competitive. O’Gorman isn’t a regular winner, decent effort last time out and shaped as if a step up in trip would help but isn’t one for maximum faith. This would require a career best for Barkston Ash on return from a break and also on AW debut. Powerful Pierre has shown good form on polytrack this winter, struggled off revised mark last time out and yet to try this surface. Mappin Time was held off his revised mark last time out. Mysterial is unexposed but yet to try this surface and returns from a break. Tyfos showed nothing on return from a break on this surface on penultimate start, better last time out on polytrack but this surface a worry. Abi Scarlett is 5 from 5 over CD, but this represents her most competitive race so far and although has won off a mark 1lb higher in the past that was in a 6 runner event, likely to find this tougher but should be thereabouts. This trip is likely to prove too short for Kung Hei Fat Choy and quite easily passed over. Profile Star bounced back to form last time out but only one run on this surface and that was very poor so best watched. Star Up In The Sky has been going well over CD recently but is 5lb higher today and running from 2lb out of the handicap making her effectively 7lb higher so should find this a lot tougher today. In such a competitive race I am going to take 2 against the field. Electric Qatar has shown a real liking for this surface this winter winning a seller and claimer in good fashion, good run back handicap last time out again over the 5f staying on strongly so suggesting this 6f trip should suit well at present and could have more to offer on this surface and still very well handicapped on very best form. King Bertie is the other I like the look of, another that is unexposed on this surface and just generally unexposed from just 10 runs. 2 runs on this surface a 2nd and a win on penultimate start off a 6lb lower mark, not so good back on turf last effort returns from a break with a decent young female apprentice on board who is going well this winter claiming a handy 7lb and should give a run for your money if fit enough to do himself justice. 1pt win Electric Qatar 8/1 VC 1pt win King Bertie 12/1 hills 7.15 Wolverhampton Prohibition has returned to form just recently winning twice around here once at 7f and then again over this CD, they have been some very poor races and took a lot of convincing and pressure to go by last time out. Further 3lb higher today and never won off a mark this high before and might be worth taking on in a very slightly stronger race. Final Delivery has largely struggled to beat a rival this winter, but this CD has always brought the best out of him and he is now 3lb below last winning mark so one to watch but hard to fancy on recent efforts. Dividend Dan remains a maiden requires more than what he showed on return to action last time out. Refuse Colette is another maiden that has only showed glimmers of hope, visor refitted and didn’t do much in it in the past. Silver Fawn is atleast not a maiden with a win at Kempton last year over similar trip off a mark of 48, not shown much since even off basement marks recently easily passed over. Lutine Charlie is becoming frustrating, he has looked like a winner waiting to happen on more than one occasion this winter, he has been seeing his races out well recently and might be worth a try over this slightly longer trip. He is also 5lb below last winning mark. 2pt win Lutine Charlie 3/1 VC
